The police union is an obstacle that needs to be broken. If you are paid to protect and serve but are abusing your authority in forms of corruption, violence and various crimes you should be terminated, stripped of your pension and prosecuted to the full extent of the law and sentenced to prison where they aren't in protective custody. They shouldn't be reassigned to a different district or department with a reprimand put to file. Maybe the bad apples would straighten up or better yet not become a police officer in the first place.

I cannot expect all police officers to be perfect all of the time but we have now is unacceptable. When I hear cops bitching about their pay, hours or environment I just shake my head in disbelief. Did they not do any research before applying?

We have an African-American president and we are as divided as ever as a country.
