Was this game 7 the most exciting game in sports history?

This game had it all. Unbelievable hype, tension was building as the end of the game drew near as you weren't sure if Lebron would be able to bring Cleveland a championship. Just a great game all around with a storybook finish.

Where do you rate this as the most exciting?

Very good but I don't think the best ever. Maybe if you live in Cleveland.

By saying game 7, I think OP is clearly talking basketball. Enlighten us with your old timer wisdom, what was the most exciting game 7?

This was one of the all time best NBA game 7's. Nail biting down the stretch their. I was on the edge of my seat. I had a room full of people, some who aren't basketball fans and they were screaming and shouting as well. When Kyrie hit that dagger 3, I thought the windows in my den was about to break. Awesome stuff. Hard to script a game 7 like this one, especially when all the other games were blowouts.

but the best game 7 by far was when Dominique went up against Bird in a semifinals game. They both went back and forth trading incredible shot after incredible shot. I was so nervous and didn't care who won that one. If you never saw that game, you need to see it below.

    on the road

    vs 73-9 warriors

epic... this is why i still watch... even after blowout game after blowout game

Watching that Celtics-Hawks video reminded me how weak defense was back then compared to now.

Sbr where every event is greatest of all time, and immediately after a championship the player is the greatest of all time. Anything so you get views and responses and feel special.

sht i knew that game was over when they fukkn snapped first play over Manning's head for a safety then didn't stop them... you can't recover from sht like that vs a more hungry team like that Seattle team it's a complete team moral destroyer to start like that

and the winning team scored all of 18...

when it comes down to 1 quarter for an NBA title in a 1 point game.... you get to finally, finally... witness these guys all playing team defense at 1000% and never giving up that's how James pulled off that amazing block... HIS BELIEF

it's also called the pressure of the situation getting to guys and making it a lot harder to put the ball in the hoop... as we all saw it was back and forth stuck at 89 for a while. that hoop shrinks man when the pressure mounts and mounts as you know time is ticking away

Most exciting, maybe. Depends on your interest in the storylines going around both teams. There was a lot at stake for sure.

Greatest, not even remotely close. If you forget about the stakes and watch this game as, say, a December game, you'd say it was a terrible basketball game. Other than Draymond Green, LeBron, and Irving in the clutch, basically everyone had a terrible game. In that way, it's somewhat reminiscent of game 7 of the 2010 and 2013 Finals. All exciting, close, nailbiters with tons on the line but many poor performances from great players.
