Is David Ortiz a hall of famer

I say no, it would be very hypocritical to let him in while keeping out players who actually played in the field and had better numbers like Bonds, Clemens, Palmeiro, McGwire, Sosa, and other players left out due to steroid use or suspicion.

If you let in David Ortiz you have no choice but to let in Bonds and Sosa and all other PED-linked players.

Most definitely. And when they hit the music for him to walk to the podium.... they should play that one segment just after the Boston Terrorist attack....

Very few compare with Manny as far as on-field accomplishments.

Fine with me although Im a little torn on the issue when MLB knew about it but didnt do anything because they loved the results from it. Even today if youre caught you just receive a long suspension, should be banned for life. Youre stealing money and stealing food out of the mouth of someone who isnt juicing. Contracts should be voided imo.

you're forgetting how mlb was in trouble in the 90's.

mcguire and sosa save it and they got thrown under the bus.

    do you remember?

kids nowadays have no clue how peds saved baseball.

For some reason this standard doesn't apply to David Ortiz

If David Ortiz still played for the Minnesota Twins he wouldn't even be in the conversation

There is a HOF bonus for playing for certain teams. Ryne Sandberg never gets in the hall if he plays for the Brewers instead of the Cubs, for example.

You guys should quit gambling if you think Big Papi won't get into the Hall Of Fame. You are void of prognostication skills and you should trade in your SBR card and move over to InfoWars or TMZ or anywhere else but here. It is an all-in, 100% mortal lock!

Yes I remember which is why I said on torn on that part, because MLB turned a blind eye for their own benefit and if there was no testing then thats shameful, players know they arnt doing the morally correct thing but if there isnt a test implemented for it can you fault them 100%. Id give a little clemency during that time, but after testing imposed the any player after that who gets caught purposely using gets banned for life if I was commissioner.

507 home runs and Boston has won the WS 3 times while he has been there! The steroid issue - is getting old. Were they legal wins or not? What a bunch of crap - Nothing about baseball is fair to everybody. Umps that think they can control the strike zone - don't have to call it to the letter of definition - The HOF is controlled by jealous jackasses who do the voting. What is fair about their methodology of who gets in and who does not? Collusion runs rampant to get even.

by your argument bonds, mcgwire, tc get in and none are even sniffing HOF prob ever. i think they all should get in but by voters standards sloppy should not.

if it wrerent for steroids red sox would have ZERO titles they would still be whining fans crying on tv every week. its not old argument ramirez and sloppy are tainted as they come sox and pats both disgrace to sporting world imo

I didn't ask if Ortiz should get in, I asked will he get in

The voters would have to apply a double standard to get Ortiz in while they leave out players with better numbers because of PED use.

hall of fame after the 80's is a joke anyway. everyone did peds in the 90's. even now, just because players don't get caught doesn't mean they're clean. what they need to do is legalize peds and let the doctors administer them for the ones that want them which would most likely be all of them.

I agree on Im sure many used them and never got caught. Totally against making them legal, why play sports if youd legally allow drugs, why train. If legal in pro might as well make legal in little league then.

when millions of dollars are involved, peds will always be around. also, people think peds make you into a super human, more than anything, it makes you recover faster. just look at dee gordon. does he look like a ped user?

They do make you stronger, there are different kinds that do different things. Dee just got caught so who's to say how long he used them. He certainly wouldnt risk a 50 million dollar contract if he didnt feel he was getting any benefit from them.
