    Getting intoxicated while betting

    I used to smoke reefer before/during games and really took the edge off. When I was playing cards (poker) somewhat seriously, it was great for making me more patient. Unfortunately I can't smoke anymore, mostly because of job reasons.

    I feel like alcohol is the total opposite, at least for me. It encourages drunk live betting at the bars and many other reckless bets. What tactics do you guys use to eliminate this from happening-other than being disciplined (which I am not, when I've been drinking)? Several of the girls I'm "close with" actually know now that if I'm pounding away on my phone at the bars, that I am betting on something/someone.

    If you are still a hopeless drunk, what are the other vices lol? I'm not a drunk, but I don't make enough sports betting to rule out social drinking on the weekends.

    Nothing for tonight. College hoops my bread and butter so betting really slowing down for me.

    Will probably wait till NBA playoffs before i make anything other than a small pley.

    Drinking does encourage wreckless live sports betting for sure. It really depends on how drunk you are though.. Just tipsy or a bit buzzed I think is ok..

    Playing tables and cards is no no when drunk though.. I've lost my ass doing that before in Vegas.. Never again...

    I don't know that table games really has any impact for me. It is pretty clear cut how to play blackjack, 3 card poker, etc...on the other hand- it is tougher to perceive what may be a bad bet when drinking (IMO)

    True but when lit you don't know when to put the brakes on when playing tables.. You tend to double up and or chase wrecklessly more then when sober.. When drunk you just don't care in other words.....

    For me personally speaking that's the case anyways.. If you have a bad run and start doubling up and or chasing you can lose thousands quickly.. I learned my lesson...
