Not a chance this year, BUT if Ainge does a great job and with a little luck/health........

They could be dangerous next year.

Yes, but that is why they have no shot you need players in the playoffs. They have college players.

Soon. If they had a consistent PF who could hit the open 3 they would be way better.

Nope zero chance but they are building the team the right way. If they don't get stupid and trade their assets for a ball hog star then they could build a team that will be strong for a long time

Cavs won't win it, so worth a shot. The Cavs are a mess, won't make it to the Finals.

they will be okay in a couple of years since they have the nets pick next year and it would be simmons or ingram so if they get one of them they will DEFINITELY be okay in the years to come

Depends on what that Brooklyn pick turns out to be. If they get Simmons? Could be dangerous.

More interesting question is can they win a series. This team is gonna win a lot more games than I thought they would and I have no shame in admitting that but the playoffs are a different animal. Is a guy like Isaiah Thomas good enough to carry them to a series win?

The East first round is gonna be really open. Wouldn't be a huge surprise to see 2 or 3 homecourt teams lose.

Boston is pretty good. I think they can beat anyone in first round they could potentially face.

any of these guys in the rotation for boston would average 30 a night in the ncaa. boston has some very good players, they just don't have any stars. they're all quality players though in that rotation.

put avery bradley on duke, they win ncaa title with ease. not even a competition.

Boston is the 3rd best team in the East behind

    Cleveland and Miami

Them and Toronto are tied for 3. They have depth so they can hang in a 7 game series vs almost anyone. Depth important.

Is that Miami with or without Chris Bosh?

No matter who they face? Could be any of 5 or 6 teams. The reason I'm a bit tentative to make predictions at this point is because there's so much uncertainty about what the matchups will be. As of now they'd face Charlotte, I could see that being a homecourt type of a series but it's kinda pointless to debate on that at this stage.

Anyway I'm a team in that cluster in the middle of that conference, be it Miami, Atlanta, Indiana, Chicago, Washington, Detroit, or Charlotte, Boston is the team I want to face if or when I get in. After that (assuming Boston finishes 3rd) I get to play either a Toronto team that's unproven in the playoffs or a 7 seed.

My guess is teams are gonna be doing everything to avoid the 4-5 seeds. We'll see. Definitely a much easier path to the ECF. The Nets tanked hard a couple years ago to play Toronto who as a surprise 3 seed. Similar situation here.

Hope Ainge doesn't screw things up by trading for a stiff like Love or Melo in offseason. Winning East this season is highly unlikely. They are 2 seasons away from being legit.
