Would be interesting to say the least.

Hard to imagine having a 70 year old head coach though. For most part...NFL a young man's game.

my thoughts exactly Opie but then how about this scenario: bring in a young O coordinator to pass the torch to in 3-4 years? Same system.

Yeah no shit...I'm wondering if Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie will offer Coughlin an incentive clause for a lifetimes worth of DEPENDS!...

This is insane. There is no way Philly is hiring Coughlin as HC. Maybe as front office consultant at best.

They'd never get away with that in Philly. Coughlin is done.

I like it! They need someone with some common sense and a no-nonsense attitude in that locker room. Plus it would bug the hell out of the Giants fans! He would need some good coordinators but I'd give it a shot! Count me in!

I agree that he is too old. Not only that, he was rather lucky in New York. He had two nice runs, but other than that, his teams were mediocre at best. His teams did not make the playoffs for the past 4 years.

you talking about the team that hired and then gave full power to chip kelly! anyone who thought that was gonna turn out well might as well hire a 90 year old senile coach who luck boxed his way to 2 superbowls around 20 seasons of mediocrity. seems like a sound strategy, im sure he will still be alive for the years it will take to rebuild the mess good old chip created

How can you say he always got the best of what was given to him? Half the time he didn't even make the playoffs.

what were his teams records on those SB teams? didnt they have to play most their games on the road? dude been a hc for what like 20 years counting nyg and jags? 2 times his teams crept in the back door, eli got hot, and strahan got himself and his dline mates motivated to wreak havoc for a month. guy has missed the playoffs more years than he been in them, the years he made it were mostly a bunch of 9-7 type maybe 10-6 teams, definition of mediocre. far as that bs about "got the best out of what was given to him" that simply a load of crap, it far more fair to say his teams were habitual underachievers who played when they felt like it which wasnt all that often..

TC is one of the greats - big success with marginal teams in both conferences - just not popular with the types who revere big mouths like Rex Ryan.

Giants don't have a lot going on in the first place, they should be nervous about this.

    1) Do you have any idea how ridiuclously inury laden that team was last season.

    2) Besides Beckham (great pick) and Flowers (good pick) Reese drafted Coughlin garbage.
Reese is too cute with the I'm going to draft the small school players that he thinks will be rising stars in the NFL that turn out to be NFL garbage because Reese thinks he's the smartest man in the room philosphy.

If the small school players he loves are diamonds in the rough, trust me, 29 other GM's would know about them too.

At the end of the day TC was a 8 and 3 playoff team as a Giant HC
