Absolutely zero chance Saban goes to LSU or Texas boys. None! Of course it's late season so the bloggers and rumors will start again but there is nothing they can do to pry him away.

Saban doesn't strike me as a guy who would like to return back to a program...when he's done he's done onto a new challenge.

Wife is happy in T Town...in process of building latest charity facility which is one of a few they have been involved with...two kids and grandchild in Bama...homes on the lake paid for and has his program running as he wants to build his legacy once he hangs it up. No reason to leave and start over anywhere. What else is left to a accomplish?

People say he can't stay put in one spot and I think Bama is the longest he's been in one spot and he failed in the NFL can't call that success so I'd imagine he wants to try that again at some point. Who knows maybe he'll retire at Bama. Saban seems like he's hard wired differently from everybody else so who really knows what he'll do.

To the people at LSU who want Miles gone, beware of the old saying: Be careful what you wish for.

It's obviously a mistake unless they know they're getting chip Kelly or some high level coach. They must know something they're running off a successful coach.

Word is they're unhappy about 8 losses that last 2 yrs and this year isn't over yet. First time v losing 3 in a row since 1999. Boosters cite the vanilla offense as a big issue. Maybe recruiting is hurting too. There is something to this that we may not know

These days coaches don't stay somewhere 20 yrs. Extremely unlikely that Saban retires at bama but he's not going back to lsu either

Coaches have a big tendency to grow stale. Bowden, Mack Brown, Lloyd Carr, and others grew stale. The old coaches who are still around are the ones like Mark Dantonio, Mark Richt, Bronco Mendenhall and others who have NEVER won the big prize. The bottom line is that the SEC West has passed Les Miles. Why all the love for Chip Kelly? It shows just how much you guys know about College Football. Just what did Chip Kelly win at Oregon?

He has the number one ...well he had the current #1 ranked recruiting class before his future was up in the air. The offense thing is an excuse yeah they get horrible qb play but the running game works good enough. Chavis leaving hurt.

Interesting to see what chipper does USC or LSU nice options to have.

I doubt they could get any of those listed coaches except possibly Mullen or Smart. Smart would be a real reach for a program like LSU. That's a risky move. Mullen would be good but no sure thing they can get him.

LSU has not been good at football outside of Saban/Miles for a long time. I would not be so ready to go back if I was them.
I'd absolutely love to see Saban back at LSU.

Hate that rumblings of firings always occur in these situations, they might not do anything, there have been rumblings about Reicht for the longest and he's still at UGA. LSU doesnt have the team this year of year's past so of course theyre not going to be as good, Fournette cant do everything, need a qb. Les got them a chip not too long ago and now the angry fans want him out, but theyve wanted him out in year's past also.

Les miles should only recruit drop back qbs. He always recruits great Wr's, o linemen, and running backs. Just get a guy who can get the receivers the ball. You ONLY need a dual threat qb when you have a deficiency. Otherwise get a drop back guy and make the other defense sweat

Just because LSU appears ready to move on from Les Miles, that doesn’t mean Jimbo Fisher will leave behind everything he’s worked to build at Florida State.

The month of November has seen the Tigers go from unbeaten and No. 2 in the country to a three-game losing streak and unranked, and apparently somebody has to pay the price — Miles may be that somebody. Despite a 110-32 record in 11 seasons and a national title in 2007, the inertia currently pushing him out the door seems irreversible.

However, if the Bayou Bengals are dead set on dumping a coach averaging 10 wins per year and cleaning up on the recruiting trail, then they need to have a better one all but signed.

Many assume the first phone call will be to Fisher, who spent 2000-06 in Baton Rouge as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. He eventually took over in Tallahassee for the legendary Bobby Bowden in 2010 after a three-year apprenticeship as the coach-in-waiting, and by 2013 he won a national championship.

Do you remember the hype about the new high flying passing game when LSU brought in Cam Cameron as the Offensive Coordinator? So much for that coaching maximization effort. It's like once Z-Mett left they just went back to the run game and said the hell with it.

The administration at LSU will not make the decision to either retain or fire longtime head coach Les Miles until after the team’s regular season finale on Saturday, according to ESPN.

All of the distractions and speculation, 3 demoralizing losses in a row, and learned overnight that Travin Dural - LSU's only real deep pass threat - is out to have surgery on his hamstring. I'd say Les is absolutely moving out of the office.

That's the problem. Get a guy who is NOT a dual threat. Cam Cameron is probably pretty good, but needs someone who can throw the ball accurately versus being a half and half.

Bottom line. It is up to the ALUMNI, who foots the bill. They can come up with 20-30 million overnight to buy out one HC and hire another of comparable talent. The rest is just window dressing. You guys who did not go to football powerhouses would not know this. At USC, if Helton does not win out, he is gone. By winning out I mean the UCLA game on Saturday and the return match against Stanford the following week. Money will not be an issue in the hiring of the next HC at USC. It never is.

Apparently Les Miles has now made it clear that tomorrow is his last game. Glad he didn't leave for Michigan a couple years ago, as we might not have gotten Harbaugh.

    He gone...

quote:Les Miles has coached 142 games in 11 seasons at LSU.

Number 143, it appears, will be his last.

Miles indicated to members of the Gridiron Club on Friday that Saturday’s matchup between LSU and Texas A&M would be his final game as the Tigers' head coach, sources at the meeting told Tiger Rag.

The coach appeared in good spirits, sources said, reiterating messages that he’d "always be a Tiger” and "thanks for a great 11 years," but informed the booster club's members, in an indirect but clear manner, that Friday’s meeting would be his last with them, even explicitly saying he would not be coaching LSU’s bowl game.

I heard on sports radio the other day that LSU has more former players in the NFL right now then any other college. Les Miles sucks....he needs to go!
