Ho-hum another shutout appearance as he completes the best 2nd half pitching performance in modern day baseball with a 0.75 ERA. Shutouts in 10 of his last 15 starts. 12 straight team wins and 17 of 18. And 20 consecutive quality starts.

How can you bet against this guy next Wednesday? He's also dominated on the road (13-1) and dominated in 3 recent starts vs. Pitt (9 hits in 22 IP).

Be real interesting to see the line for that game. I'm thinking in the neighborhood of Cubs -140 (assuming at Pitt; -180ish at home).

Been cashing on him for the last 2+ months. Honestly extremely easy money to take Cubs -1.5 every time hes on the mound. I've done it almost every time and I think cashed 90% of the time at good odds. Great stuff.

And yeah game vs. Pirates, man that sucks so bad for them. Pirates probably slightly overall the better team, but Arrieta just lights out the best player on either team and he gets the ball against them.

I think Cubs -140 is right about perfect too.

I don't think it will be 5.5. Both teams have had some high scoring games against each other. Assuming it's Cole v Arrieta I bet it will be at least 6, most likely 6.5

The Cubs can be prone to failing to get runs in if they don't HR. So its's certanly possible Cole could shut the Cubs out and win like 1-0.

Literally anything is possible as baseball can be a fluky game with bloopers and errors and such, but it surely would shock me if that happened. If Cubs lose, more likely it's like 1-0 or 2-1.

Oh absolutely, I'm not saying it's likely, I just yeah, could see it happening because like you said baseball is flukey. I'm a Cards fan and 2 games in a row Kershaw owned us for 6 innings and suddenly gave up 6 in the 7th. Arrieta has been so consistent that most likely he goes again 8 innings and gives up 1 run, but if he gets blown out it would just be another crazy MLB Playoff/Wild Card story
