They must be desirable if people are paying the high cost of living at these cities.

Do you consider Mississippi, Wyoming etc. To be better places to live?

Do not know much about Mississippi, vacationed in Jackson WY, beautiful place. Stayed out in Libby Montana another wonderful spot. As far as Chicago goes, I observe the opposite happening. People leaving, it is fast becoming too expensive of a place to live.

    Any City is expensive live

What's the purpose of this thread? You think left and right make a difference, anyway? Very ignorant thread title too.

    Exactly.

Most of LA is a dumpster fire. All the money is down south or up north of that place.

Chicago? You have to be kidding

SF is the most overrated city in the world....along with the most overpriced.

NY couldn't care either way but they elected hilary rodham so.....

It's not overrated if people are paying that much to live there.
You remind me of some guy I know who you used to live in the woods. He hated cities and then moved to one and never went back. And who can blame him, he's not the first one.

And by Chicago I obviously meant the nice parts of the city.

Most don't love in those cities because they love them. They do it because that's where the jobs are. Move to much smaller city and you have fewer jobs meaning less pay and way less career mobility. It's a convenience not a desire to live in big cities for most.

You basically want to live in one of the corners of the US. Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, Southwest. There are a few exceptions like Colorado, maybe certain parts of Wyoming and Texas if that's your cup of tea...the middle of the country is a toilet.
