PHILADELPHIA — Top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard will make his major league debut Tuesday in Chicago. The righthander will move into the Mets rotation in the wake of Dillon Gee going on the disabled list with a groin injury.
Syndergaard has been on fire of late and earned the call-up Sandy Alderson said.
He was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher for last week and Thursday posted another strong outing. He allowed two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts. He did not walk a batter.
In his last three starts, Syndergaard has allowed two earned runs on 11 hits and just two walks over 22 innings for a 0.82 ERA. He has struck out 27 in that span and walked two batters.
