Oklahoma City Thunder to Make an Offer to Billy Donovan

Trying to coax him away from Florida Gators to jump to NBA to become next head coach.

Will leave Florida in shambles. They have a good recruiting class coming in, but many would renig on their commitments and Billy D's coaching skills will leave a huge void.

You have an opportunity to coach Durant and Westbrook. He'll leave Florida.

He's a legend in Gainsville but I wouldn't blame him for going to NBA for new exciting challenge. With KD, Westbrook and Ibaka all healthy that's a championship caliber team.

Scottie Brooks > Billy Donovan and my first thought was that this is a huge step back for OKC

But this is a ploy to keep KD

Everything OKC does this year is about KD, this is no exception. If KD wanted Brooks to stay, Brooks would still be coaching. Simple as that. LBJ prolly told KD to make sure they get a rookie coach in so KD can run the team, much like LBJ did with Spoelstra.

So in the end, OKC is better with Donovan and Durant than Brooks and a bunch of draft picks

He didn't want to make jump a few years ago because of his kids and family living in Gainesville. Will be interesting to see if he makes the jump now. I agree it would be a big hit to UF basketball but after the season they had last year wonder if he might be more open to the jump

As long as his offense is set to find easier shots for KD he's an upgrade over Brooks at this point. Brooks can take over in Orlando.

Lots of pressure on him, has one season to win and to convince KD to stay.

Hard to lose with a healthy KD and Westbrook, but if they do KD is a wizard and Russel is gone too the highest bidder for the 16-17 season. Then what's ol Billy gonna do?

The team will be gutted by the 17/18 season.

Westbrook, KD and Ibaka all likely to leave.

Maybe so but they'll reload. They've got Presti in the front office, he'll get a boat load of first round draft picks or just have a ton of cap space to top talent

Why? Seattle is terrible for sports, their home teams always end up traveling the most miles and nobody wants to go way the fukk out there.

    Oklahoma City has phenomenal fans.

I figure he will be able to rebound from jones fracture. If it was a knee thing I would be much more concerned that he may not be the same player.

Just saw something about how the Warriors are willing to throw everything at Durant to get him.

I really hope he comes to the East though. My pipe dream is Raptors. Otherwise Wizards.

Yeah, the local channels here interrupted programming to tell us they reached an agreement. Don't see an upside to this move.

You get to coach Westbrook and Durant. There wasn't much to think about.

It just shows you LOYALTY means nothing in sports. Florida should burn photos of this guy.
