I'm still happy on how they are doing this season. I predicted they would be 81-81 this season, and they will still probably break that. George Springer is the heart of this club, and it shows right now. The pitching has kept them in the last several games, but they can't score enough runs. They need one or two more players that can hit for average so the boppers can get better pitches to drive them in. Springer, Altuve, and Correa are lethal when they are all healthy.

I am not giving up on Houston yet. I trust their pitching and I have faith Nolan will make the right decisions to keep them in the hunt for the AL West pennant. Losing Springer hurts but they took the inevitable rough patch right before this All Star break. I do like the lineup comments KLC and I have been thinking about that some more.

The bullpen is a strength and who's starting 5 in that division do you trust more?

I love CJ, Heaney looks good but unproven. Lineup scares no one....Trout is my favorite player probably....Albert has planar facisitis and that shit will inevitably flare up and he will miss time....I have this too and it hurts men. I just walk trout and make ginger Calhoun beat me every night.

Texas.... well please give us a pass on this one
Yu is out, Derek Hollandaise "I'm always broken" is out etc....Wandy, Lewis, a kid named CHI CHI has been nothing short of miraculous and cannot continue. Fading away like Jordan at the buzzer. (Kobe for the younger guys)

Oakland...Sonny is amazing, I don't like Chavez personally, Oakland bullpen non existant, poster shortstop alone has more errors than the entire majors practically. However....the amount of bad LUCK yes luck, in 1 run games was brutal for Oakland to start the year....probably keep an eye on them if Ron Washington can figure out how to help the defense get better...so far big dud.

I just realized I should keep this to myself.

Saw the highlights today, can't believe the Astros came back and won.

Picked up a nice player in Kazmir but tbh they needed a bat much more than a pitcher.

Looks like the offense has regrouped since the All Star break. Looking forward to seeing the series with the Royals this weekend. Could be the two best franchises in the American League for the rest of this decade.

Unreal on how they beat the Dodgers. I hope they meet the Dodgers again in October. Not saying we would win by any stretch but it would be nice to see them in the Series again.

The next road stretch will tell the story. Got the Yankees, and then the Twins. Astros have been wounded warriors on the road the last month, and hometown heroes at Minute Maid. With the Rangers being hot, they have to at least split this road trip.

Did you hear that crazy stat where the Astros are like 54-9 winning scoring 4 runs or more but 11-50 when scoring 3 or less. The crazy thing is we got alot of those victories during this last home stand. I got the records wrong but it is something like that.

Live by the long ball, die by the long ball. I know they have a pretty good record in games with 2 home runs or more also. I'm chomping the bit for George Springer to get back into the lineup. Once he is at full strength, I think our lineup is up to par with everyone's except the Blue Jays. That's one more guy that can get on base, so our home run hitters can see better pitches.

Springer will give him more protection in the lineup. The question is where will they put him? Springer will lead off. First five will probably be Springer, Gomez, Altuve, Gattis, and Correa.

I was hoping for a .500 year. This is a team made to stay for the next few years. Royals-Astros will probably be THE rivalry for the rest of the decade.

Ummm....let's ease up a little. It's been a decade since the Stros have even made the playoffs.

I'm thinking maybe we should put the anointing oil away for just a bit.

Team is built to last with several controllable players in their prime. Got even more making their way up the ranks in the minors. Astro era is almost here.

Regardless if the Astros make the playoffs this season or not, they have a team that can compete for years to come.

Not a great recipe for success in playoffs.... cant win on road, relies on home run, horrible batting average. Their ace is 3-6 away from houston

Yeah that would be the astros, the same team that is 24-35 on the road with a .240 team batting average. Oakland has the 3rd best ERA in the AL doesnt make them a playoff contender

Pitching doesn't win in the playoffs now? Must have changed just this year.

Road record comes with the territory for a young team. Might have a chance of getting out of the first round if they win the AL West, and meet the Yankees in the first round. If Toronto wins the AL East, and face them, it was a good season.

I agree Houston should definitely make the playoffs this year.

Typically that's what happens when you're pure complete dogshit for 10 years and able to stockpile top draft picks.

George Springer back in the lineup, and the Astros are on all cylinders. Also, 7 of their farm clubs made the playoffs this year. Luhnow has to be considered for Executive of the Year.
