Silver has lots of work ahead

What an embarrassment the first round has been for the nba. Most series ending in sweeps. Most game not even competitive. League has zero parity. Not good for the game.

nba still a great product. they just need to adjust the playoffs so a team like the thunder makes the playoffs over the nets

Yeah this crap is a disgrace so far. Everyone and their mother knew Golden State was going to destroy the Pelicans.

Golden State vs Thunder would have been a blockbuster match up...... pity

first round isnt supposed to be competitive when there are 8 teams each conference thats why it used to be best of five. dont see commissioner and owners going back to less games.

you want to talk overall quality of play the inmates are running the asylum there i dont see it getting any better. you got too many players coming into league too early, idiot player coaches with zero experience, dont see that changing either.

what work does he have to do? It's not his fault. It's the first round, sometimes it's going to happen where there isn't much competitiveness. Good to because it shows how there isn't any funny business going on. Next round, Warriors should easily take care of Memphis, the Rockets and Spurs should be competitive, as well as the Cavs and Bulls, and even the Hawks and Wizards should be good.

Trailblazers are hindered with injury, the Pelicans in no way can compete with the Warriors, and the Mavs didn't have a point guard the first two games. Now the East is literally becoming a joke. The Jazz would have made the playoffs if they played in an Eastern division. Can you imagine what would happen if LeBron went West?

People defending the NBA product is hilarious.

Sure last year the first round was awesome but for the most part this league is a joke. How can you watch the NHL playoffs at the same time and say the nba product is great? Puck kicks the shit outta baskets.

Last years playoffs started out better. Anyone remember Mavericks pushing the eventual champions to 7games? Just a little more top heavy this year. It'll be better in the next few rounds.

usually there are not this many sweeps in the first round. it happens tho. i would not judge the playoffs after the first round is halfway thru

Seems like securing a first round cakewalk is one of the few things that keeps the regular season relevant for teams. Lock up those one and two seeds, so that you play the best of the worst in the first round. Am I wrong in my thinking?

still the playoffs have only been going on for 2 weeks. the entire playoff period lasts on average 3 months. so the next 11 more weeks will have way more suspense and anticipation.

for example cavs/bulls will be very entertaining, physical matchup

I've been an NBA fan for over 30 years. I don't watch the NHL and know next to nothing about hockey.

Know what I've been watching the past few days? The NHL playoffs.
