Bet amounts: How do you divide your action?

    Team (A) is @ -123 playing against Team (C)
    Team (B) is @ +108 playing against Team (D)

Bankroll @ $10,000, betting 1% of bankroll is a unit.

Do you bet $100 on A and B?

    or

Do you bet $100 on A and slightly less on B because it's a dog?

Even though most people don't do this...

The answer to your question is

    Risking 100 at -123 odds Team A

    Risking 100 at +108 odds Team B.

That's the way you're supposed to do it on a strict 1% bankroll... but majority don't.

For example... let's say a line was -300... you'd only risk 100. Wouldn't get jack back... but that's what you're supposed to do.

I think you are right. Looking back at my statistics it would be to my advantage to not hedge the money towards the favorite. Thanks for the input.

IMO the best way to maximize your expected profit value is bet higher and lower depending on your "probability of success/edge".

    EV($)= Sum (Prob*Wager)

Have you seen JJ's spreadsheet. He does this 110 to win 100 on every game and is down -XK. Why? 1. He makes bad/average picks consistently. 2. He bets the same on every pick.

But youre not JJ because you have a better edge SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. Otherwise that one game you had as a lock just cancels out with a random game you had as a slight lean. Sure you will lose a few upped wagers but in the long run your edge will work in your favorite.

Start with a base bet of $100. Think you have a 75% shot to win a game, up your bet. Think it is a slight lean then lower it down, keep there. The people with the 1-5x plays have the right idea, just be true to yourself and make wise bets and pick your spots.

Level stakes betting is one of the worst methods out there. It relies heavily on the results of long odds plays and makes and short price bets insignificant. The idea that you would be equally confident on every bet with the same edge on each is ridiculous.

There are many staking plans out there that can work, but level stakes is not one of them. Betting to win 1% would be a better strategy, but still not one of the better ones

    What strategy do you implement?

    Risking $123 to win $100 @ -123
Risking $100 to win $108 @ +108 for one 1 unit bets is better choice in the long run.

Additionally, if you have too much time, for deep research, according to value prediction of the odds, you may bet in a range from 0.25 units to 5 units.
Different units on each bet, is taking more risk, so do it when you are really confident.
"Being confident" does not merely mean "being confident on the player/team to win the given event"
It means "being confident on the outcome of the bet you are playing"
