I agree but its MLB their sensitive to gambling i wouldn't be tweeting about betting of any kind because now they'll be questioning every game you pitch especially if you have a bad outting

yeah the tweet is not a good idea. but it was obviously non baseball he was talking about if he was even being serious.

but what is a better way for a 24 year old pitcher 2nd year mlb to make money?

tank a game on purpose to win a game at your max limits?

or compile the best stats you can so that you continue to stay in the majors and make 500K a year as opposed to the minors salary and riding buses?

guy will be arbitration eligible soon with a potential payday of 6-8 million per year for three years until he is free agent eligible.

do you think he would risk all that for a 10k bet?

Anything else is a joke. This is one of many reasons why baseball is a joke.

looking further at that 7 ER 1/3 inning pitched game on April 18 2014

it was Cosart's 4th start of the year and 14th of his career

Its not like the guy thought he was a lock to stay on MLB rosters

in 2014 for Houston, Cosart threw 116.33 innings and gave up 57 ER's for a 4.41 ERA

if you take that horrible 4th start away he threw 116 innings ad gave up 50 ER's for a 3.87ERA

so you can and idea of how disastrous tanking even one game could be for a guy's career when it comes to arbitration time

All Star Game deciding home field

DH (different rules for same sport)

    Slow pace

    Bad announcing

    Troughs to pee in

Steroid era, we have to establish who did or didn't do what

    Tradition of what? No thanks.

You have some good points, but why should an NL Pitcher have to condition themselves to drive in a run when an AL pitcher can use that time to focus on their heater? I know there's time for both but theoretically, that is BS. The thing that made the All Star Game home field thing is worse is they had it right, then a bunch of stupid old men decided more people should buy cheetos as a result of the All Star Game. Be on top if you're going to get that greedy, like the NFL. MLB never will be because of crap like that. I can enjoy a 20 pitch crucial at bat as much as anyone but it's bush league decisions that make me want to watch a minor league hockey game over the World Series.

It's like having a dunk tank at your own wedding. Awesome in theory. Then someone twists their ankle on the volleyball court and everyone is screwed.

I'll tell you another thing too. Why would I want to see a bunch of doofuses in costumes of hot dogs and sausages run into eachother when I can almost see trim at a football or even a hockey game? Baseball is for 80 and 18 year olds, no in between.

    Screw it.

Around 9 p.m. last night, he Tweeted out a supposed direct message between Cosart's account, @JarredCosart, and a colleague:

The tweet quickly picked up steam across the gambling-focused corners of Twitter, with Cosart inundated with tweets about the supposed conversation. Within an hour, Cosart had deleted his account.

I see nothing wrong with an MLB player tweeting about gambling...

its not like he was talking about betting on MLB.

Personally if i was a millionaire like him i would not gamble however.

The only reason i gamble is to try to get rich. If i was rich then i would absolutely not gamble.

b/c what the hell is the point of a rich person gambling? He is already rich so he has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Gambling is stressful as fukk. Yes i get an adrenaline rush from it and yeah the high i get from winning a big bet is a greater Euphoria than anything else in life i have ever experienced its almost as good as busting a nut or smoking some awesome weed but its definitely a habit i would break if i didnt have to do it

Tell that to Floyd Mayweather and Charles Barkley. Being able to bet tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands is a rush in itself, it is all about the action to those guys.

add Michael Jordan to that above list

the fact remains there is not one single shred of evidence that he bets on baseball let alone that he would be purposefully pitching poorly to win a bet.

    story is non story
