based off of the actual abilities of the teams, not the BS way things are done by the committee

took about 25 minutes, mostly just transposing Ken Pom and Sagarin with some of my own numbers. About 5-10 mins moving teams around to avoid them playing a conference foe and such

I'd feel good about our chances against Florida or Oregon. Iowa State would be interesting as well. Harrell would have a field day

have you ever seen a #1 and #2 seed in a region from the same conference? Especially when the #2 seed beat the #1 seed on it's home floor?

i think a 1 seed is supposed to have no other conference foes seeded 5 or better in their region

I wasn't trying to be a dick, just saying. Utah has lost to Oregon twice in the last month. They lost last week to one of the worst teams in the country, Washington. Their only "sexy" win was against Wichita St. They struckout against Zona, you can't be a #2 seed when you lose twice to a #2 seed and don't even make it to your conference championship. I'd put any of the actual #2 seeds ahead of them, plus Iowa St, Notre Dame, etc over them. Notre Dame and Iowa St just beat more teams in the last week than Utah has all year. Pac12 blows so unless you are beating Zona, you arent' exactly racking up resume builders.

You did not serioulsy put Texas #5 did you?

It isn't about who the better team is. It's about who deserves to be higher. Who has Utah beaten to be a #2 seed? Like I said Notre Dame and ISU just beat more quality teams in the last week than Utah has beaten all year. Tell me Utah's good wins?

Outdated logic. Utah is better in every way possible than Iowa State. EVERY way

It isn't about who is better overall. Seeding is about resume. Who have you beaten etc. If it were by pure talent, then Kentucky would have been a #1 seed last year, not a #8 seed. I'm not arguing with you about Utah being a good team, they are a very good team, but no way do they deserve a #2 seed.

    Notre Dame's quality wins:
Beat Duke twice....yes they beat a #1 seed twice
    Beat UNC twice
    Beat Louisville
Beat Michigan State who was ranked at the time
Won their conference tournament, arguably the best conference

    ISU quality wins:
    Arkansas
    West Virginia twice
    Kansas twice
Texas twice (once when they were ranked)
OKST twice (once when they were ranked)
    Won their conference tournament

    Utah quality wins:
    Wichita St

If you want to call UCLA and BYU quality wins then go ahead and add it to their short resume.

Who cares about your resume? The only reason this happened is old penetrates still using their eyes instead of far more accurate power ratings

ok well we are talking about two different things then. I'm talking about how the seeding is actually done.

Throw away the stats. Most people do not realize that the seedings and pairings are set to ensure financial success for both the NCAA and TV.
