New York Mets +1725 to win the NL?

The first of many pre-season baseball threads by me.

Let me preface this by saying I'm a Braves fan and do not like the Mets.

However, I think this team can win 86-87 games and make the wild card. After that, it's a lotto ticket.

They will need to straighten out their pen, but they are deep at SP and will have an under rated lineup?

    Thoughts?

Light the money on fire and post it on YouTube. You're better off.

They will get pounded all year by the Nationals and Marlins and won't win a WC spot.

    How will they score runs?

I got Marlins 30/1 to win NLCS about 2 months ago.

    I think it's 20/1 now

People excited about the Padres, rightfully so, but they have holes that don't show on paper.

Almost an entire roster that's injury prone & potentially the worst defense in the league.

Im not sold they will be above .500

Indians D was historically bad last year and they won 85/86.

    Bro i like it.

In regards to what u say about the bullpen.

They should do this once they make the playoffs

    4 man rotation

    1. Matt Harvey
    2. Bartolo Colon- b/c he is a proven veteran
    3. Johnathan Niese
    4. Jacob deGrom

lets move Wheeler to the bullpen for the playoffs. He throws hard and he only has to
pitch a limited # of innings he can throw even harder.

    Noah Syndergaard

the bullpen is perfect for this guy since they want to limit his work load.

how many pitchers have you seen get injured 2 years in a row after having Tommy John Surgery...?

They will ease him into things. Hell, maybe they could even make him the closer he throws almost 100mph

    No offense ???

    sure they have offense.

Lagares and Flores have surprising pop at SS and CF

Grandy Man and Duda will supply the power

Wright and Murphdog will hit for a high average.

Mets easily have the second best pitching staff in the National League behind the Nationals.

    Dodgers are 3rd IMO b/c

you cant count on Ryu , McCarthy and Anderson.

Yes, for the first half of the season until Jose Fernandez returns to the Marlins

    Fernandez
    Alvarez
    Latos
    Cosart

Is just as good as Mets 1-4

Ok great... When a guy gets back mid season they have 4 good pitches... U realize the mets legitimately have 8 pitchers who could start in most rotations in baseball... Not saying as 1,2, or 3 starters but injuries are a key part and the mets have so much depth... Look for a team who's top one or two pitchers goes down with an injury to be calling up the mets and looking to give them a bat for a young starting pitcher

Great pitching staff and David Wright will have a big season. The fences at Citifield are being moved in. Not a bad idea

they looked good early, but not a team that will contend in the long run imo. they have some good young players for the future though. Need a few bats, but that pitching staff is legit

Pavy I am proud of the Braves for still hanging in there, Mets have company for 2nd place in the division Bullpen still quite horrific though, if they can tighten that up a few ticks down the stretch won't be too bad a year.
