That is less than earlier reports indicating he would get either 80 games or a full season.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi report that Josh Hamilton "is likely to be suspended for at least 25 games but less than a full season."

The report says that commissioner Rob Manfred is "not close to a decision" due to "various complexities" in Hamilton's case. While Hamilton's relapse this offseason is not considered his first major league violation (he was on the Rays' 40-man roster from February 18, 2004 through June 1, 2006), MLB is considering "showing compassion" for the outfielder because they "have a favorable view of Hamilton's efforts to remain sober." Hamilton was already due to get a late start to the season because of shoulder surgery.

A four-person panel is split on whether Josh Hamilton should have to enter a rehabilitation program for drug abuse, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The panel, which consists of two attorneys and two physicians, is at a deadlock. As a result, an arbitrator will join the group to break the tie. A source also said officials are determining whether to classify Hamilton as a fourth-time offender, a penalty that normally carries at least a one-year suspension. New commissioner Rob Manfred would still have the final say on a potential suspension's length. A decision wasn't expected much before Opening Day, and it's unclear at this point how long the process will take with the extra steps now involved. Stay tuned.

I think the suspension is unjust.
I fail to see what cocaine use in the off-season
has to do with his contractual obligations as a major league baseball player.

I have a very strong dislike for this guy. So overpaid and brings his team down. Maybe trade to marlins. I want him off the angels. That organization is 100 x better without him.

On his first relapse in 2009. Only boize. He wanted coke but couldnt score. But... he had so much to drink he got shirtless with some strippers. And of course pictures were taken. Hamilton says he doesnt remember the scenes due to excessive drinking but his wife and mother of his children showed hims the pictures that he really did party half naked with strippers in arizone. Since then he has had 2x relapses with coke. He says he needs to not even think about a drink cuz the drinks leads to other things. I guess coke and ho's are the other things.

That sourcebis wikipedia. Online. Although wikipedia says josh likes to party with strippers in public. (Altbough married) and does not refer to them as hoes. Or crack hoes. But does make reference that josh has visited a crackhouse.
