He was a hedge against large post players they might encounter in the playoffs like West/Hibbert, Jefferson and maybe Memphis in the finals. FWIW i know it's fashionable to hate on this guy because he doesn't put up many counting stats but he's still a pretty good rim protector. He brings veteran experience especially in regards to the playoffs which the cavs severely lack and knows his role. Good pickup for them.

That's true but he was a turn style for most of the league. Howard is a big pussy, I think Durant even called him a pussy during a game recently

Back when OKC went to the finals, Perk did a helluva a job on Zbo and Gasol when the Thunder beat the Grizz and then he shut down Gasol and Bynum of LAL.

But that was his peak. Everyone in OKC had high hopes for him but he never quite produced those same results.

The last few years, the Memphis boys put up Xbox #'s on him.

As an OKC fan, I loved Perk. He was a crowd favorite, one of those guys that you love having on your team but hate if he's not. He is a HUGE part of OKC's success because he brought a toughness to the team they would never have known. Now, Adams, Durant, Ibaka and Westbrook are better off for it. THey're much more intense players because of Perk.

But it was time for him to go. With Kanter, there were just too many bigs better than him.

He's worth having around on the team at a minimum salary, not at the $9M that OKC was paying him.

Not much of a Cleveland debut with 2 points, 0 rebounds and 2 fouls in 2 minutes.

C`mon, that line is exactly what he brings now. He won`t get 10 points in any game and the only way he gets 10 boards is if both bigs ahead of him get the "stomach" virus and he plays 40 minutes.
