things just seem to go bad for both chicago teams. don't see BOTH of them finishing over .500. could be wrong though.

I think they may have the biggest possibility to bust. Their top 3 while good if healthy are all major injury question marks.

after reading nashers post i was bout to post and saw yours which was basically what i was thinking. "they might not get 85 gms total out of the starters"..if none of their arms fall off i think they will def go over, seems like it a given between pineda and tanaka at least 1 of them be done by july at latest, prob sooner on one and then around july on the other..

    Eovaldi is the 'x' factor.
He's always been healthy, with a 13-8 type season, Yanks win 85

I'm not a Mets fan, as a matter of fact I dislike them, but I know several Mets fans, it would be nice to see them succeed for once.
They have very nice pitching, however, Cuddyer is not enough, their bats will determine how many wins they achieve, not the arms.

If Duda breaks out like he did in spots last year, if Lucas hits 30 bombs, 12 of them meaningful bombs, then yeah, they can snatch a WC berth.

Wright is Wright, 18 bombs .290 or so,. Murphy is steady at the plate, Grandy is a K machine and old though, SS is a black hole.
The catcher has raaw power, a lot of question marks there.

Yankees x factor IMO is Chase Headley.

    Line-up should look like

    1. Ellsbury CF
    2. Headley 3B
    3.A-Rod DH
    4. Texeria 1B
    5. Beltran RF
    6. McCann C
    7. Drew 2B
    8. Gregorious SS
    9. Gardner LF

if Headley can solidify that number 2 spot and if A-Rod comes back rejuventated that line-up could be dangerous. Beltran needs to produce as well. Many of these Yankees players are injury prone so health will also be a key.

The Yankees bullpen is hands down the best in the AL East.

I'll take the over on the Astros, whether its at 74.5 or 75.5. They win 80 this year.

Agreed, and Ells needs to play 140 games.
Ellsbury, if healthy all season, will steal 30 and hit 25 bombs.
He has the potential to put up Trout numbers, as a matter of fact he had a Trout season in 2011, I'm banking on a Trout season this year from Jacoby.

    Good point Bear

They are weakened, they lost Markakis who plays as good as a right field as it gets.
They lost all that Cruz power, Adam Jones will regress because of the loss of Cruz, and Jones bat has a lot of holes.
Buck is going to be hating life this season.

Spoon is right, don't sleep on the Jays, and the Sox went all in too after losing Lester to the Cubs.

Would have feared that 2-6 in the lineup 3 years ago. Now you wonder how many of them will be there after 50 games.

    79.5 is correct.
Can't tail it over, can't fade it under.
That number is spot on, however if you like under, hit it.
I can't play it either way.

I'm with you, most Mets fans seriously know the game, and they are loyal to their team.
I would not mind watching DeGrom (who throws serious filth) and Harvey in a big time series.
    Would not mind at all.

As a Mets fan we know the franchise is snake bitten..

Watch Harvey be THE ONLY guy who doesn't come off Tommy John successfully.

    Then a 2nd operation....
    then a 3rd operation....

Then Mets give up on him

    Then Yankees take a flyer

Then Harvey wins 500 straight starts and breaks Cy Youngs wins record

Seeing a lot of "overs" here. Every sharp knows if you're going to bet a season win total, you bet the under. Injuries can decimate a team especially in the pitching department.

    Tampa Bay Rays Under
    Cleveland Indians Under

Definitely. But that pitching staff is deep and good. I feel like 83-84 wins is reasonable
