Belicheat being investigated by the NFL again for cheating

NFL investigating whether New England Patriots improperly deflated footballs, league confirms

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The NFL is investigating whether the New England Patriots improperly deflated footballs in Sunday’s AFC championship game, a league spokesman confirmed.

The spokesman, Michael Signora, confirmed that the league is looking into the matter but declined further comment.

The investigation was first reported by WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, which added that the Patriots potentially could have draft choices taken from them if the allegations of deflated footballs are proven true.

The Patriots won the game, 45-7.

NFL rules dictate that the home team provide footballs of a certain weight for the game. WTHR reported that the officials took a football out of play at one point during Sunday’s game and weighed it.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stripped the Patriots of a first-round draft choice and fined Coach Bill Belichick and the team a total of $750,000 in 2007 in the “Spygate” scandal. The Patriots were found to have improperly videotaped opponents’ coaching signals in violation of league rules.

The Patriots are scheduled to play the Seattle Seahawks on Feb. 1 in Arizona in the Super Bowl.

This is to be expected. And remember for every cheating they uncover there are 9 others they don't uncover.

which means, more than likely, the other 29 teams do it too.

But the other teams don't get caught. Patriots are sloppy.

So if the footballs had more air in them the Colts could finally be able to tackle Blount?

I guess less air in the ball would be the reason Andrew Luck was throwing it right into the hands of the Patriots DB's hands....makes sense to me

I'm not suprised. Is it also far fetched to think that one can wiretap opposing lockerrroms. The penalty is true is only draft picks?? How about banning the player/coach for life and more.

It's stupid that the teams have any control over the game balls period. The NFL should take care of the game balls, not the teams. I'd blame the NFL for this. As pointed out, I'm sure every team does this to give them an edge.

In books were written that Red Auerobacj would have maintenance have the visiting lockerroms very very hot or cold.

I believe in wet weather a lesser inflated football would be easier to catch than a fully inflated one.

The Pats are certainly more prone to the passing game than Indy

    same here.

Patriots knew the Colts couldnt run the football.

Both QB's were under throwing the football all game!

But the Patriots seemed to be adjusting to it better.

That might explain why the Colts recievers only caught 3 passes the entire game, while Reggie Wayne didn't catch anything.

Deflating the ball allows for better grip; but why would the Patriots do that against a team that only throws the ball while Patriots attack against the Colts is always to run it?
Doesn't make any sense to me.

no each side gives 12 balls and teams only use own balls. Unllike rangers who plays with everyone else balls.

The entire story is rather humorous. Was this done to get more media attention towards New England up until the Super Bowl? Quite interesting actually.

    Ummmmm
    Pats had more passing attempts
(And that's with a team that was in "pass to catch up" mode for the 2nd half

You would think that the balls would be kept in some official storage box under control of NFL officials, not under team control. This would be similar to baseball umpires controlling the ball supply at baseball games.
Wasn't there some allegations about 10 years ago about the Oakland Raiders inflating their balls used for field goals with Helium to make them go farther?
