Not happy Vinny. Probably the best they could do. He will bring structure and. Help us on defense but he won't help uswin anything that matters. He is that coach you hire before you hire the guy to take the final step.

Talk about walking into a Shiite Storm

I thought Fox had more brains. The Bears management has no $$ to add players --- that's why several more experienced 'available Head Coaches' did not even interview for the Chicago job.

Fox is in a true, "management with more money than brains" situation where the very idiots that created the mess will expect him to clean up --- Fox you're a good coach, but Chicago is a sorry situation.

Cutler is a Type 1 diabetic who will not quit drinking -- which causes his erratic behavior; ie, taking on 250lb linebackers and not hitting wide open receivers. Why Chicago management spent so much money on him is sheer stupidity.

John you walked into this Shiite Pile, hope you get out OK.

He is a perfect fit for the Bears.

I dont like his coaching style as i like aggressive minded coaches like Urban Myer and Pete Caroll but he will be somewhat successful with the Bears.

9-7 or 10-6 is and a wild card playoff birth is not out of the realm of possibilities.

Solid guy. I wouldn't expect a ring, but 8-7 playoff record & 6 division titles says he knows some stuff.

If you're going to hire a young kid as a gm, wouldn't you want to pair him up with a younger up and coming coach? Don't you want to have an opportunity to have a coach and gm that can work together for 10-15 years? Or you want the dinosaur that may very well die during a game on the sideline...

first of all most coaches dont last 5 years.

second John Fox is not going to die anytime soon.

And 3rd they didnt just hire a "kid" to be GM

all you need to know is Fox is going to take a lot of weight off Cutlers shoulders and make him a game manager.

Expect to see an emphasis put on the running game (Forte) and the Defense.

The Bears will no longer get blown out by about 50 points and Cutler wont be throwing 3 INT's per game.

There is no 9-7 or 8-8 here. Chicago is DONE. Few coaches worst than Fox (Lovie Smith comes to mind). Both like to play Mr cool but really don't know how to manage. Fox had a pretty good team in Carolina with Delhomme/Smith/Muhammad/Stephen Davis/Deshaun Foster back in the day and won the NFC once, that was it I think. Same happened in Denver, they put an allstar team together for him and he didn't win anything..

It's not just an emphasis on the running game, but a different type of running game. Everyone complains the Bears didn't run enough, but they didn't have success when they did. Forte caught a lot of balls, but on the ground was horrid. They ran the wrong types of runs for him. That, and the O-Line was out of position. I expect the best O-Lineman, Kyle Long, to move from RG to LT where be belongs. Move Bushrod to the right side where he's better suited. That will fix a lot. If Slauson comes back healthy, that will help.

Still need a lot of help on D. Safety was not fixed. Drafting Landon Collins will be a start. MLB still needs to be filled, unless they are just going to change scheme altogether.

And with Cutler, they are going to go back to things he did well in Denver. Trestman gave lip service to it, but never did it. Have to move the pocket.

Great move, I think he will do well. The Broncos organization is a very proud franchise, it's just too much pressure for Fox to handle. The finally got a coach with proven credibility, two Superbowl appearances. He should turn around the Bears quickly with his conservative style offense.

Good coaches last. They hired a 37 year old "kid" as gm, certainly a "kid" by today's standards. Lovie got fired for 10-6 and doing all the things you just said fox will do. Congrats on being 8-8 until fox dies in a few years.

Any kind of hope is good for the Bears, the Bears just want to get playoffs any way they can and Fox should be able to do that. Having a guy that just won 4 straight division titles gives him credibility, and players will listen to those kind of coaches.

Just getting into wildcard will be like winning the Super bowl for Bears fan, Foxy should be able to deliver. The Offense is still very good, Fox should able to fix the defense. This is not good news for Packers or Lions fans.

Cheap organization like the Browns and Bengals, they won't pay good $$$ for a solid coach. Agree with Mike Francessa who today said the Bears deliberately underpay a head coach because of the market they play in. "If you win you'll make a killing on all of the endorsements that Chicago can offer." They always F it up, LOL.

Broncos like trading away shit to the Bears.
Except for Brandon Marshall, he was actually a good wide receiver for the Broncos.
Though he went to the Dolphins and not directly to the Bears from the Broncos.

Once again. You fired Lovie for Trestman and gave Cuntler 100 million dollars. Sometimes you need to stew in your own shit and not get a reprieve for doing fukked up shit. I hope bears are bad the next 10 years for such stupidity.

John Fox is 59 years old, hardly old. By contrast Belichick is 62 & Carroll is 63. Coughlin won rings at age 65 and 61.
