What position requires more physical strength?offensive linemen or defensive linemen?

I've been wondering about this for awhile. Both sides are insanely strong, but which position requires more strength?

Kinda depends on the position. Oline can get away with not being as strong with size and technique. Dline can compensate for lack of strength with speed. Don't see too many successful weak dline men though.

O line needs more leg strength, d line needs more upper body

    Bear you are projecting.

I do not think he is asking for an opinion on his next move.

Amazed so many said o line. As an offensive lineman you definitely need strength and much of it lower body as said earlier but defensive lineman have to shed those blocks and be able to make the play. So they need a ton of upper body strength for that but they also have to be able to hold their position/gap on running plays so can't be weak lower body either.

I've coached and played both o and d line and I would say d linemen are generally stronger. That's where I want me strongest guys but it is much more dependent on technique in both positions.

O-Linemen only require you to be a fat tub of lard

Interior D-Line are fat fukks and non athletes too.

only athletic linemen is a Defensive End like JJ Watt

Based on combine numbers, DT takes the cake. O-line is above DE/LB tho. But it can certainly vary by individual.
