    Sunday NFL Recap (Week 16)

NYG - More records for Odell Beckham
    Source: The Associated Press
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. posted eight receptions for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Week 16 game against the St. Louis Rams. He set a franchise rookie record with his 10th and 11th touchdown grabs, and he shattered another rookie mark for receptions while topping 1,000 yards. Beckham has had at least 90 yards receiving in eight consecutive games and could tie the NFL record of nine straight by Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Irvin in 1995.

MIA - WR Jarvis Landry sets rookie record
    Source: The Associated Press
Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry had eight receptions for 31 yards in the Week 16 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He broke Terry Kirby's team record for receptions by a rookie with 79.

Landry's been a nice addition for the Dolphins and has a bright future.

SEA - RB Marshawn Lynch does not start
    Source: NBC Sports - Television
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (back) did not start the Week 16 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lynch has since entered the game, but he joins Joique Bell on the surprise Week 16 drama list. Lynch needs as many touches as he can get to make a decent stat line against the stiff Cardinals defense.

NYJ - WR Percy Harvin unable to return
Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta
Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Percy Harvin (ribs) was unable to return to the Week 16 game against the New England Patriots after leaving with an injury to his ribs.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
15 weeks ago, it was looking like Harvin was going to be a star in Seattle. Now he can't finish a game for the Jets. Things move fast.

DAL - QB Tony Romo taken out of blowout
Source: NFL Red Zone - Scott Hanson
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo was removed early in the Week 16 game against the Indianapolis Colts with his team up 35-0 early in the fourth quarter. He finished 18 of 20 for 218 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Romo was nearly flawless and came through for his fantasy owners in a way few QB1s did (so far) in Week 16. He'll have a chance to exorcise some of his playoff demons.

HOU - WR Andre Johnson reaches milestone
    Source: The Associated Press
Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson posted six catches for 65 yards in the Week 16 game against the Baltimore Ravens, giving him 1,002 receptions for his career. He is the 10th player in NFL history to accomplish the feat.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Johnson came out hot but the Texans offense didn't need to push the issue with the lead for the whole game. This is probably the last year that Andre Johnson will be drafted as a fantasy starter with the QB uncertainty in Houston next year.

IND - QB Andrew Luck removed early
Source: NFL Red Zone - Scott Hanson
Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck was lifted late in the third quarter of the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Luck was the last of the elite QB names to run into a brick wall in the fantasy playoffs. The Colts having a down game because they had nothing to gain could have been foreseen, but this was worse than anything we could have imagined when projecting the day for Luck and his receivers.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford hits 4,000 yards
    Source: The Associated Press
Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 22 of 39 passes for 243 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears. He hit the 4,000-yard mark for the fourth consecutive season.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stafford threw two red zone interceptions and fumbled away a matchup that Drew Brees and Tony Romo dominated in recent weeks. He'll still have a chance to win the division if he can win at Lambeau next week.

DET - RB Reggie Bush finds end zone
    Source: The Associated Press
Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush ran seven times for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears, and he added six receptions for 44 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bush got most of his production in the first quarter when Joique Bell was benched. He's moving into the lesser role player phase of his career.

DET - RB Joique Bell runs for score
    Source: The Associated Press
Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell carried 13 times for a game-high 74 yards and a touchdown in the Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears. He also had two receptions for 13 yards.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bell was benched in the first quarter, but picked up where he left off lately, including a touchdown run that looked too easy against a Bears defense that gave more fight than expected on most plays today.

NYJ - WR Percy Harvin suffers rib injury
    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini
New York Jets WR Percy Harvin (rib) left the team's Week 16 game early because of a rib injury and is considered questionable to return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Harvin has run into durability issues yet again. He's likely to be a free agent this offseason, and that will hurt his stock, among other things.

NO - RB Pierre Thomas leaves early
    Source: NFL.com
New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (ribs) left the team's Week 16 game early after injuring his ribs and is considered questionable to return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson will see more work as Thomas is missing a chance to benefit from a game script that will have the Saints in catchup mode for the second half.

ATL - RB Steven Jackson leaves with injury
    Source: NFL.com
Atlanta Falcons RB Steven Jackson (quadriceps) suffered a quadriceps injury in Week 16 and is considered questionable to return.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Devonta Freeman and Jacquizz Rodgers will get the backfield work. Jackson had been healthy for the first 14 weeks before this injury.

TEN - QB Jay Cutler could land in Nashville
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler is receiving trade interest from the Tennessee Titans. If the Titans landed him, it would alter the 2015 NFL Draft board dramatically.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This could be a great boost to Delanie Walker, Justin Hunter and Kendall Wright in the short term. Stay tuned.

Aaron Rodgers strained a calf muscle during Sunday's win at Tampa. He suffered the injury during the second series, limiting him a bit throughout the game. Coach Mike McCarthy admitted he had to change his play-calling a bit to keep Rodgers in the pocket. He of course finished the game and had decent numbers, so he will play against the Lions for the NFC North title and a first round bye, but he may not be 100%.

Johnny Manziel hurt his hamstring midway through the first half against the Panthers and then had to leave after taking a hit later in the game. Brian Hoyer completed 7-of-13 passes for 134 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in relief. Manziel is considered questionable for the finale against Baltimore.

Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson suffered a second-quarter hamstring injury and only made only one catch afterward. We’ll have to monitor his practice sessions this week, but the fact he finished the game is of course a good sign.

Percy Harvin suffered a rib injury and was unable to return to the game against the Patriots on Sunday. He played through what appeared to be a severe ankle injury last week and continues to pick up injuries with his dynamic running style, which unfortunately sets him up for more collisions on his smaller frame.

Pierre Thomas had to leave the Falcons game with a foot injury and didn’t return. There hasn’t been any details revealed about his injury at this time, but if he can’t play we’d likely see Travaris Cadet active again.

Steven Jackson suffered a quad injury and couldn’t return to the game. Jackson is not a quick healer so there’s a decent chance he won’t be able to go next week. If not we’ll see another mixture of Jacquizz Rodgers and Devonta Freeman.

Jermaine Kearse suffered a hamstring injury in Seattle’s win over the Cardinals on Sunday night. Paul Richardson took over as the #2 wide receiver.

Jets center Nick Mangold was forced from the Jet's game against the Patriots with a left-ankle injury. It didn’t look good as the rather large Vince Wilfork landed on his leg. The fear is that he fractured his fibula and that he’s done for the season.

    Other Injury Notes:

Defensive end Willie Young tore his left Achilles' tendon during the Bears loss to the Lions. . . . Bills’ cornerback Stephon Gilmore suffered what appeared to be a head injury. . . . Left tackle Eugene Monroe exited the Ravens game against the Texans with a foot/ankle injury. . . . Ravens’ right tackle Rick Wagner was pushed from the game with a foot injury. . . . Rams’ cornerback E.J. Gaines left the game against the Giants in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury. . . . Falcons’ strong safety William Moore suffered a shoulder injury. . . . Vikings’ linebacker Chad Greenway forced from the Dolphins game with a third-quarter knee injury. . . . Texans’ right guard Brandon Brooks left the game against the Ravens with an ankle injury. . . . Bears defensive end Willie Young suffered an Achilles injury against the Lions.
