    Alabama #1, Oregon #2...

    Those are etched in stone.

    After that it gets tricky.

Is TCU in for sure? What if Ohio State or Baylor dominate tonight?

Florida State wins, and they are in. They control their own destiny. But if they lose, who gets the spot? Ohio State or Baylor, if they both win?

Does this read like a Big Bear thread? I apologize.

Ohio State and their third string QB aren't doing anything.

Imo fsu better win by 2tds. If they squeak by, doubt they move to 3. They moved to 4 bc they always squeak by in the 2h.

I just think beating Georgia Tech looks a lot more impressive on someone's résumé than beating Iowa State.

With that said, I'm hoping Georgia Tech wins tonight.

Assuming all win: I think the top 4 holds but Baylor jumps Ohio State so Baylor probably needs just FSU to lose.....Ohio State needs Baylor AND FSU to lose

I asked this in another thread, but interested to hear others' opinions....

Who gets the 4th playoff spot if FSU, Baylor, and Ohio State all lose?

Interesting now Oklahoma losing took away a ranked win from Baylor and TCU, OSU would have Michigan State a top 10 team on the road and Wisconsin if this holds.

If Baylor comes out and wins this game by 28+ how do they take TCU over them.

I can see that argument. As long as it's not TCU over Baylor. I took Baylor -3.5 second half. Think they pull away in this game.

It's going to be 8 teams real soon(within 10 years for college football soon) If only Bama had lost today!!!!

The committee wants Ohio St - Alabama for Saban vs Meyer.

But FSU must slip to 5 and Baylor move up to 3.

FSU will be shred to pieces vs Oregon in a one sided game.

Exactly. TCU dominated that game and then blew a 20 point lead in the final 10 minutes on the road.

Putting Baylor in sets a bad precedent BC they play crap OOC.

Yeah, but even with eight teams, there will still be controversy. There will always be controversy as long as this is decided by subjectivity.

    Good luck on Baylor.

8 is perfect. The #9 team probably isn't going to win it.

I would rather #9 get left out than number 5.

This system with 4 is still way better than the BCS.

Why does FSU have to slip down?

I think they're going to get in along with Ohio State. Assuming Florida State wins.

If these games play out like they are, they might not have to determine it one way or the other.

This is how I would do it:

8 teams is the perfect amount. Have 5 conference winners and 3 "wildcards". Big 12 would need to have a title game.

Play the first round next week at the top 4 "seeded" teams' home stadiums. Once you get the final four teams, play it out like its currently constructed

If you are number 9, you won't have a great complaint as you screwed up atleast once badly and you didn't win your conference

That first round at the home stadiums for next weekend would be insane

I agree more teams in the better, but no matter how many you put in, someone is always going to be whining.

Committee is doing fsu a favor by leaving them at 4. That way they stay close to home for the 1st playoff game instead of traveling to Pasadena.

Gotcha. With 8 teams I can live with teams ranked 10-15 whining.

Now, there are confernce champions that will get left out.

Make it 8 so you can win your way in by winning your conference and then have three at large spots so the little guy can have a shot should a Boise be really good some year.

Lol, they set up the committee and said they are going to pay special attention to conference champions. There's 5 freaking conferences and on may have 2 or 3 of the top 5 teams. Just make it 8 teams and get all conference Champs in. What would they have done if Bama lost today. No sec team?

So really as Giant wisely pointed out is who's gonna be the 4th team in assuming FSU wins.

From a math standpoint it's dead even with TCU/OSU/Baylor

Assuming Baylor and OSU hang on and win impressively, how do they not jump TCU, who also won impressively.

Now here's where it's a no win situation for the committee. How can they drop TCU out of the top 4 due simply to a weaker SOS (OU losing) when all along they've allowed FSU in the top 4 with a terrible SOS? TCU will be penalized but FSU would not.

But how do you not reward Baylor and OSU for quality wins?

They fukked up by putting TCU in the top 4.

This is all assuming FSU hangs in to win.

Another interesting situation, could FSU squeak by and get bumped out? Put in Baylor and OSU? If they drop FSU out, Then they've gotta get rid of TCU.

My prediction, if FSU hangs on both them and TCU get in so the committee is consistent. If for any reason FSU drops out, then either OSU or Baylor get in and I would bet it's OSU.
