Do you guys put college bets in early during week?

I never have I always wait until game day and hour before

Just a bad habit I guess

I would think if you know or have an idea on line movement it's good to bad early in certain games or you are a Middler

isnt the general rule of thumb bet early if you plan to bet on a favorite.

wait if you want to bet on the dog?

in college i've seen point spreads jump a good 3 points in the favorites direction between monday and saturday

in those rare cases where the dog line actually gets smaller , i say you were still better off waiting on the dog bc in most cases if the dog line gets smaller it is reverse line movement and the steam is an indication your lean is on the right side.

i saw this in 2 scenarios last week.

san diego state went from +15.5 and closed at +14 right before kickoff and SD State almost won straight up.

also South Carolina jumped all the way to -17.5 mid week and then right before kickoff came all the way down to +14 and ECU covered easily.

when you see steam like this on a dog it tends to be a good sign.

    Depends.

Need to know where line may shift. You can end up getting 2-4 Pts. Problem is that you risk injury or weather.

the only time u should pounce early is if you are 100% sure.

bc once u submit a bet there is no turning back. you cant call Tony and say hey buddy listen i changed my mind. Sure you can buy your bet back but that ties up even more money.

here is an example of win i will bet early... the second that line comes out for the Seahawks vs Broncos game in week 3. If i can get Seattle -3 or less I WILL NOT HESITATE but to pull the trigger on that bad boy. Aint no doubt in my mind about that game.

Line movement is very telling, so I dont bet till it tells me what I need to know. A lot of people think linemovement is as simple as it moves a certain way because money is coming that way, thats just not the case.

In the NFL though line movement has not been as telling.

Panthers went to +5 before winning str8 up.

Lions and Seahawks lines got smaller before winning in blowouts.

I actually dont bet much college the public is to sharp on the game and wins a lot more than the Pro's
I will make a few bets though....4-1 in the Pro's this week so week 1 was good

Monday night---crazy line on Detroit went from 6.5 to 4, then back up----kept me off winner. I liked lions all week, then figured smart players were betting giants.

Jj to busy with each days games. But you have a very valid point. I need to quit working and devote my time to capping and poker.

Get the best number. If that requires locking it in early then so be it.

Everyone knows the home team will make a 2h run if down in the nfl. Why try 2 pnt conversions. Total bs.

You see, thats exactly what they wanted betters to think, and from the looks of it they succeeded.
