Let's get this right.

Just because you bet on a side that favors the public, doesn't mean you are a SQUARE.

Betting on a play that will WIN is the SHARP.

Going against the odds because you want to pick the least favorable side at all times, means nothing.

Here are a couple reasons why you call people squares:

1) You can't pick a winner because of a horrible past of losing.

2) You have a "theory" of going against the public, increases the probability of a winning pick. So therefore picking the least favorable pick means your a sharp.

A sharp to me is someone that is consistently winning. No matter how you put it. I don't care if you pick a -240 pick and bet to win $200! Congrats! You can bet $200 on a dog +160 and lose $200 just as easy.

The point of betting on sports is to pick the WINNER. NOT betting against the public.

Lines shift due to bookies, vegas, where ever, to save money. It's a business.

Matches may seem "rigged" because of the simulations and the stats that are use to make the most probable outcome.
