Does Kershaw have a brain fart tonight?

    Cards +162 home dog.
Mighty tough to go into St. Louis and beat them in their own back yard.

2 things though, it's Kershaw, and if was anyone else besides Carlos Martinez, I would consider it.

Cards against Kershaw lifeime, overall .281/.361 with a gigantic sample size.

A bet I really, really like is Cards run line, first five.
    Tie wins at +1/2
    1-1 after 5 innings is a winner.

MLB Baseball 1st 5 Innings Run Line Money Line Total Runs
Los Angeles Dodgers at St. Louis Cardinals
    Sun 7/20 963 Los Angeles Dodgers C Kershaw - L -185
    8:05PM 964 St. Louis Cardinals C Martinez - R +168

Car-Mo is not a bad pitcher. Been doing exceedingly well since taking over a starting role.

Bad news is , he can be a bit of a head case and let certain variables mess with him.

Im afraid if he lets the pressure of facing Kershaw get to him you will see some erratic behavior out there tonight.

Neither lineup today looks too fearsome. As with most baseball, avoiding the "bloop and a blast "

is going to make or break that first 5 bet. Hopefully the Cards get a bloop(or a walk)

and a blast from someone on their side and you cash this one 2-2

Cards have had success agaisnt Kershaw as you said, especially at home.

But he is so damn good you cant go with past scenarios when it comes to Kershaw.

As a fan, im very interested in this game tonight.

A sweep of the Dodgers after the break would be monumental,

sucks that Kershaw is a expert at spoiling another teams party plans

    @Fidel

My wife (gigantic baseball fan, know baseball better than 1/2 the dudes) says "Kershaw is due to shit the bed"

I tell her "I have seen many a bankroll crippled on people betting the "they are due to lose" theory.

DSI has the FF run line at +110
    I put in 1/2 * St. Louis 50 wins 55

    lol

Kershaw IS eventually due to shit the bed,

but no way should someone bet on his start by starts by that theory lol.

My way of not losing on Kershaws game is not betting on (or against) him .

The lines are usually so inflated if you back him and its normally suicide if you take the tasty dog

and go against him. Hes kind of a greedy prick.

He rarely even gets himself in trouble with baserunners.

If he does not get injured its easy to assume he will be top 5 pitchers of all time (stat wise).

Hope you win this one though. Noticed there is only 2 lefties in the lineup today for the Cards.

Here is to the Redbirds fouling off those tough pitches and staying alive to find a pitch to work with.

I mean cuz really, thats all you can hope for against Clayton.

Well that, and the hope that the pitcher facing him has a career day

Im going to say if the Cards can grunt out 2 runs on ole Clayton Bigsby that this one cashes in first 5

Kershaw is in the " Zone". Enter at your own risk. That BS about do to lose??? Man I wouldn't bet against him right now. If you aren't sure just do what Fidel says, watch the game and enjoy it and keep your wallet in place.

The problem with playing the first 5 innings and Dodger games is that when the Dodgers win, they almost always win the first 5 innings. Dodgers are like 0-39 when trailing after 7 innings, so they hardly ever come back.

Basically, if you think the Cardinals will win or even tie the first 5 innings, then take them to win the game also because the Dodgers never come back and their bullpen also sucks. Likewise, if you think the Dodgers are going to win, then take the whatever is the better ML value (either 5 innings) or the full game.

I like Kershaw to win even at -185.
But Cardinals -200 at a 2.5 RL is lot of value too.

yup .44 lol. I wont bet this one, will be rooting more then ever for them birds tonight knowing some peeps here

are rolling with the Cards against this pitching assassin .

Specially after the Cards combined performances in the All Star game.

Would be nice for them to sweep the Dodgers, and win some coin for the people crazy enough to back emm against Clayton.

5 innings goes by quickly . Here is a funny scenario, since Dodgers A- lineup is not out there tonight.

How bout Carlos Martinez throws 5 shut out innings

and you dont have to worry bout what the redbirds do against Kershaw anyways

Everyone is do to regress, but i don't see Kershaw doing it tonight vs the cards. The cards have a terrible offense this year.
I just bet on this player prop that i love a-lot. More total bases between Hanely Rameriez and Matt Carpenter. Hanley Rameriez -120.
Matt Carpenter, is 0/10 in his last 10 at bats, has came back down to earth, and now has to face the best pitcher in the game. Good Luck to him.

Don't know about this nonsense that cards are so great at home. they are 9 games above .500, which is good. not great. Again, this isn't last year, or two years ago. The cards are not even close to being the same offense they are 29th in runs.

Is there another SP in the entire league you would want on the mound to avoid a SWEEP other than Kershaw? I didn't think so.

Also forgot that Matt Carpenter bats left handed. Kershaw vs leftys this year, they avg .167 off of him, and he has given up 0 hrs to them, and only 2 extra base hits. (72 at bats)

No Puig, and only 3 lefties in the lineup for the dodgers. Carlos Martinez is awful vs left handed batters, but dominates righties. I dont think the Cardinals win this game, but I definitely think its within the 2.5 run line.

I'll go 21 to win 10 on the Cards not losing by 3 runs or more.

wouldn't bet against it. Dodgers have won in his last 8 starts. He did not allow a run in the last sunday nighter vs the cards on June 29 vs the cards, 7 innings, 13 k's. good luck
