Love the trade but wish the Cubs could have used their leverage with 2 really strong MLB pichers in Shark and Hammel to obtain some top shelf #1 draft pick minor league pitchers.

Such as? The top handful of pitching prospects were not made available. Russell was. They took the best player they could. They can always flip position prospects for pitching when needed. Plus, low-minors pitching prospects are more risky. Too much can go wrong. Better to just grab the pitching when you need it. Cubs are building the correct way.

Looks like the Shark has found a home in the east bay.

It's good to be an athletic. He pitched well and the a's scored for him and the bullpen shut it down. He might be a 25 game winner next season, with a championship ring

Many years they are good with minor league players

Whoever running that team is a genius

Yanks lose year after year with washed up overpaid players (Tex, Jeter, , etc)

Do you even watch baseball? The angels are only 3 and a half back.

I'd wager he never becomes a 25 game winner.

yiser, it is part in jest. point is he will win many more games now that the relief pitching and closer is so much better, as well as the a's offense.

Could see him winning 18 in Oakland next season if he stays healthy and they don't trade him.

Dude is 3-7 this year but only needs 7 more wins for a new season high for him.
