jimenez can be just as wild. then it's a battle of the bullpen and balty has been stinking it up on that end.

good bet. these two pitching staffs are horrible. the other guy on rangers that is just terrible is nick martinez. i don't know how the guy only allowed 1 or 2 runs versus the angels a few weeks back but overall when you see him pitch it is usually a game to play over on.

First batter in the second inning, JJ Hardy goes deep.
    Did you see Jone's shot?

The total on this game dipped to 9 late.

Watch Ubaldo pitch a gem out of nowhere and Baltimore win 9-0.

Look at this game and the OAK/DET total.

If I had been on both of those fluke losses, I'd be on a bridge right now.

Oak/Det closed @9 so that would have been a push

Joe Saunders has always seemed so hittable to me, just watching. Reminds me of Odalis Perez. Don't understand how they ever got anybody out.

    It's because, like Odalis, he's left-handed.

If Joe Saunders were right-handed, he'd be working construction somewhere (or entering professional hot dog eating contests).

You're right. But I don't understand how guys like these two are 10 year career starters, and a guy like Neal Cotts struggles to just get on a roster.

"Starting pitcher" (I use that mildly) vs. reliever. Even so, lefty relievers hang around forever no matter how bad they are. Look at Phil Coke.

Cotts was a starter when he came up. I actually umpired a few of his games at Illinois St. 40 scouts in the house every night. Guy was nasty. I guess I go by what I see, and the Cardinals just pounded Perez every time out. Pujols hit like .500 career against him.

Must be something crafty about Saunders. He was great in his rookie season, just won and won and won. I could never figure out how. I wanted to get in the box and take some hacks.

Haven't seen him lately, how fat is he? He's always been a bit pudgy but not obese.

    RIP

Rangers designated LHP Joe Saunders for assignment.

Saunders gets the boot after giving up seven runs over five innings Monday against the Orioles. The veteran southpaw owns an ugly 6.13 ERA and 2.07 WHIP across eight starts with the Rangers this season. The match was a bad fit from the start.

Royals signed LHP "Fat" Joe Saunders to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Omaha.

Saunders was cut loose by the Rangers last week after posting a 6.13 ERA over eight starts. He'll serve as rotation depth in Triple-A.
