    Explain this to me

UMass was a 6 seed in the A-10 Tournament and didn't even reach the finals.

New Mexico won the Mountain West, beating SDSU in the finals.

Yet UMass is > than New Mexico in the eyes of the committee? Minutemen are a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament; New Mexico is a 7.

That kind of puts it in perspective but as I'm sure you know they are unrelated.

I'm confused as well though. I thought for sure New Mexico was a 5. UMass was looking like closer to a 10.

I know they're mutually exclusive, but it makes zero sense to seed UMass higher than NM.

Doesn't make sense, Louisville is a 4 seed and Wichita State who played nobody is a 1 seed.
Wichita State is 1976 Rutgers. (look up 1976 Rutgers team)

I understand your point re: Wichita's schedule, but they were a FF team that basically returns everyone from a year ago (as well as Van Vleet, who was a reserve last season). There is a track record there.

If you want to use Louisville as a basis for comparison, they didn't play anyone this year either. SOS is 96th; Wichita's is 111th.

You all are missing the real atrociousity, Syracuse as #3.. They've been putrid, deserved a 5-6. UCLA a #4 is laughable.

Some of these seedings are a joke.

Ignore all the seeds the Committee assigns. They fudge these so much to avoid conference match ups in the early rounds, they're useless.

UCLA as a #4 is Laughable since they clearly deserve to be a 2 or 3 seed.

Also, The committee is full of retards and bias idiots who dont want to see teams like Wichita St. or Baylor make it far because NOBODY cares about those schools aka NO MONEY to be made in the Finals with 2 Who Cares programs

1 or 16 you have to beat everyone to win anyhow. Grab your onions.

OOC Umass beat 4 tourney teams, UNM beat 2. I looked at a few conference power rankings and all of them have the A-10 ranked 2-4 spots higher than the MW. It is evident that the committee loved the A-10 and viewed the MW as not much better or possibly worse than the WCC and MVC.

UMass is easily the worst seeding in the tournament. How they are a 6, I have no idea. And Lobos got screwed too. Whoever wins the play in game will beat Umass.

I agree New Mexico is mis-seeded, especially when compared to San Diego St's position. But there will be "mistakes" every year. It's impossible to seed 68 teams with complete agreement. There's rules they use (doesn't get implemented all the time but most of the time) that causes some of the poor seeding. Location beats seeding IMO. Sure you might think you're a 3-seed but will you settle with a 4 and be closer to home to have some type of home court advantage instead?
One final note I know everyone will disagree with: I'm fine with Louisville being a 4-seed. They didn't beat one quality opponent outside of their conference all year. With the Wichita St comparison, at least they went undefeated, Louisville lost 5 games. It is what it is.

I think New Mexico is appropriately seeded. Lobos had zero good road wins until the neutral site win over SDST and only three wins against the Top 50, two against SDST. Their OOC schedule was decent with KU, UMASS & Cincy.

UMASS questionable, but I think slated there because of their record against the Top 50. 7-4.

Committee seems fairly straight forward in their thinking. Have a solid RPI from a solid RPI conference, schedule legit OOC competition and have a handful of Top 50 wins if you want a solid seed/in the Dance.

The committee needs to consult Vegas.
