    Quality or Quantity Bets?

Just wondering what seems to work for ya'll.
I do a lot better betting a game or so a day that I feel the strongest about, but the gambler in me wants to bet 5 a day.

    What do ya'll do?

It's probably the difference in a winning/losing month. A good goal to strive for is going 2-1 on heavy unit action. Small action might even itself out. 2nd half lines are what usually get me in trouble and off course.

If you believe you have an edge on multiple games and you don't bet them, you are leaving money on the table. Quality and quantity isn't an either or concept. OP, you have a lot to learn and I wish you well on your journey.

My usual daily plays are around 3/day trying to go 2-1 like you said. I like taking 2H lines betting the original underdog who happens to be up at half by around 5-8. The public jumps all over the original favorite to come back and win and you can usually get -105 lines if you bet last minute for those games.

I still think you lose less betting less games each week and have a better shot of winning, most games are coin flips period but guys look at stats and try to find angles that are really action angles. I would say 2% of guys can win betting high volume but they are pros..amateurs like us should be betting only a few games per week.

I've found as of late quality is way better than quantity if you are looking at a ton of small amount bets to even themselves out….it usually evens out on the losing percentage..then requires you a tilt a bit to get back to square zero…bad move..

Take 2-3 plays a day now for $110 instead of what I used to do 6-8 plays at $11…ending up making more money.

Quality by far. Quantity leads to nothing but losing over the long haul.

I make all my $ on basically two events during weekend in my sport when in season. That's all that's offered about but I also have restraint not to bet on sports I'm not good at making money on just to have a bet going. It's why I've been successful imo

Most of us do not do this as a business.

That's why were all down deep

We do it to mask our other issues in life

    It's a drug

You guys are approaching this wrong. If you believe that you hold an edge on 10 events, but you only bet the three best, you are leaving money on the table and you are increasing your risk due to variance. Look at it in a different way, if you play 10 hands of blackjack, your chance of being a winner, even though the house holds an edge, is much greater than if you play 1,000 hands or 10,000 hands of blackjack. If you are betting games where you believe you hold an edge--which should be your objective, you want to bet as many of those events as possible, in order to ensure that quantity rewards quality.

Think about it from the perspective of somebody betting against you. If you were a book would you rather take action from someone who wants to bet every game or someone that is patient and waits for the right spot? As a book you know you will beat the former variety, sure he will have his streaks, but its the later who is a pest that you just want to get rid of. Books have a bet on every game, as a player your edge is that you don't have to.
