If the final drive had ended in a touchdown for the 49ers, there would have been an "NFL is rigged" video made from the opposite perspective.

Yup.... the league is risking their entire existence (which is worth roughly $30 billion) to help generate a couple of ratings points.

BTW, if the league was rigging games, it would have made a helluva lot more sense for the league to send SF instead of Seattle.

You know how you can tell someone is a real whining loser? Whenever you see someone say "obvious hold".

This is a repost...RonPaul2008 started a thread like this earlier.

    http://www.sportsbookreview.com/forum/players-ta...ly-rigged.html

PS..After last Sunday's Superbowl blowout victory by the Seahawks, I'm now even more convinced that the NFL is NOT rigged!...the only concern that I had was that the refs were going to cheat by calling the game way in favor of Denver because I was certain that everybody wanted to see Peyton Manning get that second ring and validate his greatness and then he could have retired and rode off into the sunset as a winner...I thought for sure the refs would call a tight game because of Seattles physical defense and how they play tight, press, man coverage.

I'm glad those fears didn't come to fruition or you sure as hell would have heard the cries of how the NFL is fixed and rigged...I'm thinking that is why a lot of SBR Forum members who backed Denver are bitter right now because they probably used that as a handicapping angle and it failed miserably!...

everybody might have wanted to see denver win except:

    1. the people who bet on seattle
    2. the books who needed seattle to win because denver was so publicly favored

Why would the referees, or the league, prefer Seattle over San Francisco? It certainly wouldn't make for better ratings.

Also, the Super Bowl was an absolute snooze, the game was determined by halftime. Why didn't the referees intervene?

I'm all about fixing games... but S.F. and Seattle was called pretty fair. S.F. had many chances to open the game wide... and Seattle's defense hung in there.

How about Kap turning the ball over? Throwing an INT in a clutch situation? No QB can turn the ball over like that in a playoff game and expect their team to win.

Seaweed makes some valid points,I think the refs are like us, they watched the first 2 playoff games and realized the 49ers got too many breaks and evened the score or were more biased.

You have no proof you moron. If you think you do, simply do not wgaer on games. Onoly the losers scream "Fix". They can't admit that they are so bad that they consistantly get their tails kicked. How much do you lose a season? If you think the games are "fied", either do not wager on them or stop your f**king crying.

I was large on Seattle -3.5 over San Francisco. I don't necessarily believe things were fixed but if you watched the line movement ( especially bookmaker, king of the 3) there wasn't one book that moved off of 3.5 once that line was reached. At 3, I believe books would have received even money on the game, at 3.5 the public was all over the .5 insurance. Two great defensive teams and one getting over a field goal was definitely more appealing than having to win by 4. I also recall the weather wasn't the greatest which also influenced a player to take the points. My play was based entirely on what the books wanted me to play. They begged for my $ to be on San Francisco so I just sided with the books and Seattle. I don't believe games are fixed but every now and then, you can at least see a lean on what they believe the outcome will result.
