Superfecta at Santa Anita just paid $1.3 million...

    On a $1 bet.

I am not an avid better of the ponies, but I imagine this has to be close to a record pay off? Never seen anything close to that.

I'm a bit skeptical of there being 1.3 million in a superfecta pool for a regular race. Sometimes tracks post this, but the actual pool may have only been 1/2 and maybe one .50 cent winner. I'm going to look into now.

The full chart isn't up yet, but I think I'm right here. The 5th race, Sunshine Mil race only had like 150k in super pool. Yes, I do know this race I ref here isn't a 1 million $ race.

The only reason why I know is about 8 years ago I hit a pick 3 at Tampa that paid about 5k. On the screen it said the $ pick 3 paid 10k. I looked at the full chart and only $5 or 6k was bet into the pool. I was the only winner so there wasn't anyway the pick 3 paid 10k if only 5 or 6k was bet in the pool.

Yes, I saw that one. The full chart has the pool info. This is the summary result. The full chart usually goes up when the next race starts.

I'm starting to think one person had a 10 cent super paying 103k.

yeah I say it was a dime. Take out the handle and that amounts to 1 10 cent winner.

sneaky sneaks. Almost shady to be able to promote that. They just could have put 10 cent super 103k in the results.

    Thanks for the thread Chalky.

I agree with the dime theory Rob. It has to be something like that.

I also agree that it seems shady but, (wait a minute, the race track ???)... it's the only way to post the payoff because as you know, they base it on a higher number than it actually is in the charts. Maybe they can clean that up someday. They should but it's probably not in their best interest . Crazy payoffs drive traffic, just like this thread . Lol.

    Thanks again guys.

If you're trying to hit a 100k+ super all you need is some lucky numbers. They pay that much because they didn't make sense on paper which is why 1 person had it out of thousands of tickets.

Ya for that kind of payoff two 3 legged horses had to hit the top 4.

But only 1/10th, roughly of the $1,235,437 was actually in the pool. As STR alluded to it is sensationalized as you could see by Lord Vodka's interest.
