    You realize how bad Detroit Lions coaching position is??

    Career suicide to whomever takes gig. Graveyard basically. Smart move by Kenny going to Tenn. Jim Caldwell a bum and would rather have Schwartz back. Hell Steve Mariucci better than Caldwell. Lions have no other options. Team will continue to be buried for 50 more years. Why is Matt stafford in coaching search meetings? He needs to take a fukkin step back and realize you're a 25 year old QB under construction. Calvin should be in meetings of anyone. Bless his soul for resigning with Detroit. Id have my agent on the phone so fukkin fast if I was Calvin.

    Yeah I hate Stafford being in the meetings, the main focus of the next coach is going to be to tell him the truth and yell at him when he makes horrible throws/decisions which is far too common right now. I doubt he would be on board with the coach that would do that. If we hire Caldwell... I just don't know.

    Very much cursed. Feel like the bridesmaid but never the bride after all the hype for whiz.

    Although sd was not very impressive against an average bronco defense. He was clearly the lions 1st choice.

    Is there any way ford writes a blank check for the likes of gruden or cowher?

    Whisenhunt is a loser, so no real loss there. Very foolish decision by the Fords though, to keep Mayhew around. No legit coach is going to want to come into that situation with a possible lame duck GM. If you are going to clean house, clean house. At this point, they would have been better served to go into next season with Schwartz. None of the realistic coaching prospects this off-season were anything to write home about.

    At this stage of the game, if I'm the Fords, I pick up the phone and see if Schottenheimer wants to end his retirement for a few seasons and then roll into a cushy front office job afterward. Yes, he's old as dirt, but he's the hard ass that this team needs at this point, and he's won everywhere he's been. Get him in there with a coach in waiting to take over after a few years.
