Ohio runs a 4 guard set...these guys are going to have to match up with athletic big men (all averaging double digit scoring) of UMASS who can do dirty work in the paint but also step out and shoot the J.
Cody Lalane (6"10 center) can basically name his state line tonight if he wants. The Bobcats have no one to match up with him. He's been a beast on the year averaging nearly 16 and 10 per game.
then you have 6"8 forward Sampson Carter who pours in 13 a game and 6"9 Raphial Putney putting up 12 a game.
this is an absolute match up night mare for Ohio. this is not the same Ohio team of the last few years who have made runs in the NCAA tourney. they have lost a ton of talent. yes they have Nick Kellog (CBS Basketblall Clark Kellogs son) who has a sniper sharp shooting 3 shot but it's not nearly enough.
This UMASS team is out for blood this year for making the NCAA tourney and they know a loss at Ohio would be bad for their resume. the Bobcats have played no one. While UMASS has beaten LSU, New Mexico, BYU, Clemson and Nebraska.
