    Targeting...call reversed..penalty still enforced 15yards..your thoughts??

Interesting call...happened in Georiga/Vandy game on Saturday...Targeting was called..reversed after review..15 yard penalty still enforced..on a reversed penalty call..giving Vanderbilt a much needed first down...(it was 3rd down on the call..which was an incomplete pass..which would have leead to 4th down..if no penalty).. Any thoughts...by the way Vanderbilt scored a TD and went on to defeat Georiga..on a Reversed penalty..where 15 yards were still awarded..any thoughts??

It was actually 4th down when that play happened.

First of all I think it's ridiculous to kick a kid out of a game w/o at least a warning. Secondly if its reviewable and review shows it was the wrong call then should be able to pick the flag up

My thoughts exactly...NO penalty should be enforced..if reversed..makes absolutely no sense

The rule is fine. It can still be personal foul, helmet to helmet, etc without it being targeting.

That being said, that UGA penalty was BS, he did not go helmet to helmet at all. That was just a shit call from the beginning.

It's overruling a call in words but confirming in consequences. It's illogical. Only reason I can think why the rule is as it is is the NCAA is trying to protect themselves in possible future litigations, where they can argue they penalized a particular play and thus did all they could to protect a player

But if the call is wrong its wrong.. and the review shows that... therefore should be no penalty
