His biggest problem is starting on the road in a hostile environment against the best defense in the league.

A couple notes about Keenum ... Case Keenum went 0-2 in Conference USA championship games during his time as Cougar High QB. He once threw six interceptions in a bowl game against the Air Force Academy.

At the same time, the guy led Cougar High to some amazing wins and definitely has the persona of a leader and a winner. It's hard for a young guy to command the respect of the vets, but he obviously has a better chance of accomplishing that than Schaub at this point.

At least Keenum is more mobile than Schaub, but the guy was never that great under pressure when he played at Cougar High. If the Texans' O-line does not step it up for both the run and passing game, the QB change won't have much of an effect.

Perhaps some mod could move this to the pro football section where it belongs.

Glad he gets a shot. Anyone is better than Schaub and Yates at the moment.

didn't yates win a playoff game before schaub? surprised they are bypassing him for an unproven guy.

No reason to put Yates. They already know what they are going to get out of Yates in a hostile place like KC. A loss and a LONG afternoon followed by injuries to their line. Starting Keenum they don't know what they will get out of Keenum, easy call if you ask me.

schaub and yates are not the answer.

plus schaub is banged up. they just got WAXED at home in a must win by texans.

They need to make this move

"We're struggling, and we're looking for a spark," Kubiak said. "I think he deserves an opportunity to go out there. It's a tough place to play. It's a tough place to get your first start and all that good stuff. But I'm not sending out there by himself. I'm sending him out there with his football team and the guys understand that."

"It reminds me a little bit of Tony Romo's story. Hopefully it ends out that way," Texans defensive coordinator and former Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "He's got some moxie. That's what Romo has."

Of course they have to say these things....but he can most certainly light it up.

Im sure they wont put that pressure on him though.

under sounds appetizing but KC could drop that many themselves against this team.
