I think Joey Votto gets replaced by actor Billy Zane in the playoffs. They're long-lost brothers.

Here's the thing with Votto, he's buying into the saber metrics stuff, you know, walk is as good as a hit, OBA, and all that, and to a certain extent I ssubscribe to the saber theories,
but I am old school too, I want my 3 4 and 4 guys in the order to be mashers, drive in runs, let the 1 and 2 guys get on base via small ball, or money ball if you will, Votto's job is to drive them home, not worry about his OBA

yeah he could have got them back in the game last night nite when it was 3-0 and runner on second. Liriano left two fat pitches up in the zone at 2-0 and he just took them to get to 2-2.

that could have been at 5-1 i could be mistaken lemme c.

edit...yup in it was in the 2nd inning when Choo was on 2nd when he got hit by pitch

    Whole team played like shit
Chased pitches all game, hackin away at everything. Then the error and overall dogshit play of the infield. Plus that shit reliever dusty threw in there after queto, just a poor team performance overall.

Anyone could see Cueto's in game adjustments to his wind up...was laughable/horrible thing to watch....worse having a coach that lets him die out there...We all know Chapman is a closer but if called on, can most likely get it done..Dusty again fails to manage the team....

i dont think dusty has ever pulled a starting pitcher early after that debacle in 2002 ws when he stupidly pulled russ ortiz while pitching a shut out. mark prior and kerry wood paid for it dearly.

Former Pitching coach and New Reds manager Bryan Price sounds like a good fit.

he says he has no problem pitching Chapman in both the 8th and 9th inning if neccessary.

he also says he doesnt have a problem having batting lefties consecutively in the order.

And hes not a big match ups guy so he doesnt plan to bring in a lefty reliever just b/c the Reds need to get a left handed hitter out.

Sounds like it will be a smooth transition and Price will probably do a better job with in game pitching decisions.
