He will ruin any franchise $$$

It's proven high priced free agents does not equate to winning

So many smaller market teams do well without big payrolls

He is lucky if he has 3 good years left

If any teams pays him even 200 mil they deserve to lose. Yes he's talented but I would never want him to be the highest paid player on my team

Ellsbury is a better buy and he will go for half that. Unless the Mets break out the dollars and go heads up with Bocox

Cano is laughable to me. Yeah he's a 300+ hitter but he's a Lazy fk who doesn't ever play 100%.
I've seen him dog a million plays in his career. I would never want this guy on my team. Not to mention his tainted numbers playing in that shoebox.
    Yankee stadium is a joke.
Gonna be interesting to see how he does on another team, but I'm never giving a guy that kind of contract when he doesn't even play hard on the smaller contract he has now.

I like the padres but I'm also gonna make a true baseball fan bet and take the Yankees tonight. I wanna see Mo close out a winner in his final game at Yankee stadium. Good home dog action anyways.

    gotta score runs.

Timely hitting is the name of the game.

a good pitcher is about scatter hits.

its all about hitting with runners in scoring position.

If you've seen a lot of Cano you'll notice he NEVER hustles. There were multiple times where he would have been safe had he busted it down the line and cost his team. The saddest part is Girardi is too puss to call him out on it. Good luck with getting Kay or Singleton to bash him during the broadcast, they would rather save it for twitter.

Kay has called him out for it during games. Not long ago he talked for a little during the game about how Cano simply refuses to run out ground balls.

I would not want Cano on my team.

I don't see what the point of the article was. Every player would like to get paid 300 million. I wouldn't even give Cano 200 million but he can ask for $2 billion dollars if he wants.

These teams that give monster contract to guys which takes them into their 40's are absolute morons. Cano is 31 in a couple weeks. I'd be willing to pay $20 to $25 million per year if it's a 3 or 4 year deal. But I am not going to pay that much for a guy in his mid to late 30's. If I was the GM, I would give him 3 options based on his value in his early 30's versus mid 30's versus late 30's: 3 years, $70 million... or 7 years, $110 million... or 10 years, $125 million

There has not been one big contract that was ever good for any team in the history of ever. Even Manny Ramirez. They won the WS, but the Red Sox offered him up for free to anyone the year before and nobody took him. Every single one is a bad contract, even Sabathia. These crazy deals are gonna go away. Aren't they?

Well it's clearly overpaying but financially most teams can afford it. You have to overpay for free agents when you have competition. I'm sure there's 10 teams in MLB that would offer Cano a 4 year 100 million deal....

True. Cabrera was 25 so he signed for 25-33. Those are prime years. Now if somebody gives him 10 years 300 mil when he's 33 then they're crazy.
