    Wake Forest at Boston College on ESPN2 Friday

    I have a lean to BC -3 at home for now. Eagles could match their win total for all of last year with a win tonight (2)!! But seriously, they could be a bit improved if they have just a half-decent running game (which they did not have last year) because the Retting-to-Amidon passing connection is a damn good one. Andre Williams rushed for 114 yards vs. Villanova last week (I know...FCS school) and Wake allowed 102 rushing yards on 4.3 YPC to Presbyterian (but a worse FCS school), so Williams could run well again and that should allow BC to score just enough points to cover -3.

    Wake played 10 true freshman last week, and while those guys getting a win in their debuts is nice, the Deacons' youth should be more noticeable with the step up to conference play (hard to say "step up" and ACC in same sentence, but it WAS Presbyterian after all ), especially on the road.

    Wake Forest (1-0) at Boston College (1-0), 8 p.m. ET, ESPN2. The Eagles opened as an early favorite, which is somewhat surprising considering the Deacons have the better team. Both squads had some ups and downs in their openers against FCS competition last week, but from my seat, the Wake defense looked much better than BC's. The Deacs produced six turnovers, including an interception return for a touchdown. That is why I give Wake the advantage in this game.

    Quote the site so SBR does not get in trouble. But on to what he said, turnovers are are function of luck (especially since three of them were fumble recoveries) and the Wake rushing defense really wasn't that great. Besides which, last week really determined nothing about who the "better" team between these two because BC faced the much better FCS opponent.

    Bingo. People bet on the NBA/WNBA all the time and that shit is categorically unwatchable.

    Saying that something is unbettable is a defeatist attitude. Looking at a game and deciding PASS is good (even great), but some of the best opportunities last week were FCS teams or MAC teams or other teams of a quality that most would consider unwatchable. Think of it this way: at least there won't be 1,000 plugs for fantasy football services during the game. I felt as if I were watching a 4-hour commercial for NFL.com last night.

    Wake gave up a 66 yard run on Presbyterian's first play from scrimmage. They gave up just 36 yards rushing after that and only one more first down for the rest of the game. It's still Presbyterian and I not saying Wake covers, but the stat in the first post may be a little misleading.
