Allen Iverson to officially announce his retirement

1 NBA regular season, Mvp and 1 trip to the NBA finals that ended with losing 4-1 to a Lakers team that went 15-1 in the playoffs that year, and a career filled with Drama. So is he a Hall of Famer?

It's the NBA, lesser talents have made it.

AI was awesome to watch play. Awesome. One of the few that is worth the price of admission alone.

Bad decisions plagued this guy and his career, but glad he is finally done holding onto the idea of making a comeback.

I feel like the whole point of the HoF is to remember the history of the game. I feel a recount of NBA history, that doesn't include AI - is painfully incomplete.

First ballot Hall of Famer. No doubt about it.

    Check out these sick numbers:

    In 71 career playoff games:

    45.1 minutes per game.
    29.7 points per game.
    6.0 assists per game.
    2.1 steals per game.

The best pound for pound player in the history of the NBA.

    Allen Iverson.

    100% hall of famer.
Forget his drama, guy was one of the rawest, fiercest competitors in the game.
Can you name ONE star he played with on the 76ers in his prime?
Philly ownership never helped him out with any good moves.
His shooting % was always a little low, but he never had anything to work with.
Let's not forget, he had one of the best commercials of all time, with my boy Jada:

Allen Iverson & Jadakiss - A6 Reebok commercial by reckin

Reebok saw AI's immaturity from a mile away, and did him a favor. They put 30 million of his initial shoe contract in a trust fund that he will be able to cash out in 2030.

Given AI's incompetence I would bet that he has been borrowing money from creditors on the promise of paying them off when the trust fund becomes usable. Nevertheless, even when the trust becomes cash, it will go straight to people he currently owes.

Wow you beat me to it. I rank this up there with Bobby Bonilla shunning a 1yr $5million deal, and opting for a 23yr $23million deal.

they were garbage...mutombo was on the downside of his career but still happened to still be 7'3"...and he only played a quarter of the reg season for them

aaron mckie averaged 11 pts a game

they were good defensively but were a disaster on offense

brown and iverson were all they had going

    Its a lock

    How quickly we forget...

Kid was unreal, one of the all time greats pound for pound.

SO what if he blew his $$$, that should have zero impact on what the kid did on the court...

This isn't the hall of fame for economics..

Of course he is a hall of a famer...his problematic image is over blown by the media intent on casting him as the THUG anti-thesis to the Jordan/Kobe gentlemen myth which in reality was proven a farce as Jordan and Kobe are 3 times the asshole Iverson ever was. Iverson had the same problem Tyson had...never learned how to be a man before he became the man....and like a lot of us, he gamble too much lol...

Never quit on the court...horrible attitude off of it but he never took a play off...not once...busted his ass in the 2004 olympic bid only to have the media and fans boo the American team for loosing just because he had corn rows...and did not fit the Olympic Image....of what an athlete is supposed to be...

Was never surrounded with real talent or a legit second option...Put him on the 2000 Lakers and he wins 5 rings....Top 50 player all time....and Top 15 point guard....all time as well..took too many shots but he kinda had to....when playing with eric Snow and Arron Mckey...his game 1 win against LA in 01 is one of the all time great playoff performances.....and Tyron Lue is forever traumatized by the Step over.....
