Why are the Tigers the Favs to win the World Series?

This team sucks. They also play in the worse division. Besides Max, no other good pitcher. Besides the 2 fat boys Cabrera and Fielder, the lineup stinks. Bullpen is worse in league. Have no closer. These kittens will not beat anyone in a 7 game series.

Bout to get swept by Kc lmao. Kc will only be back 4 games of Detroit if they win today.

Detroit: city bankrupt and all sports teams are also shit

Look out for the dodgers laugh if you want but Kershaw,Greinke,Ryun ain't no walk in the park and the bullpen has some power arms one of the better bullpens I've seen Dominguez touches 100mph closer stuff solid closer etc etc The dodgers are actually scoring runs they actually have sticks Ramirez, puig, gonzo, kemp, eithier is a pretty damn solid meat of the order.

i dont like the 6-1 odds.

I'd prefer the Dodgers or Rays for my money. Although i'm not sure if i wanna tie up my money that long in advance.

Imo on paper the Tigers are an outstanding team.

Having said that, they are Very inconsistent, and have trouble putting everything together.

    Also their bullpen sucks.

true. But come playoff time the great players kick it up a notch.

You better believe Verlander would not lose to the Royals if the game meant something.

Right now hes just going through the motions

Verlander gonna give it his all but his best days are well behind him. Nothing to fix, it's called age. I said it at the beginning of the season, this team doesn't have success vs the teams in the weakest division in baseball. Like that guy managing the Halo's, I think it's high time to start eyeballin the chain smoker that manages the Tigers.

we'll see I don't think so I know when hes cruising throwing easy 94 up there and when hes going full tilt throwing 99 in jams problem is when hes really going full tilt hes getting pounded blowing leads. Max is the ace of that team imo

Post season not aweful but definitely not overall shut down stuff. Last year he was dominating but this isn't the same Verlander.

love how you dismiss cabrera like some fat scrub. world's best player. also like how you mentioned scherzer before verlander when all det fans deep down know verlander will be more clutch in the playoffs.

how many all stars did detroit have this year at the all star game? Thanks.

Also team went to the series last year and team is much better this year

Guys I dont think you understand the way these odds are made completely. You have to take this into account:

DET is in a very weak division. While almost every other contender actually has to worry about winning their division and making the plays technically (I know the Red Sox and Cards are almost a lock to make it), you have to take into account that risk these teams have in simply getting in.

Along with that DET is projected to mop up their shitty division which will help with homefield advantage.

The odds aren't just purely Vegas saying this team is most likely to win. If the Yankees and Red Sox were both on pace for 110 wins and the Orioles on pace for 95, it would be the same concept. This early in the season you still have to take into account making the playoffs and having homefield advantage.

Too bad baseball is a team sport. Detroit can have (and has had) a large number of individually higher talented players than other teams. Yet they can't defeat bad teams enough in their own weak division. Their game is bad. We'll know soon enough. What Cabrera brings to the team has to be "weighed" against what he costs the team. That goes for all the rest of the players and the overall group of talent put together.

Through the first five Max has been a machine.
Showing Sale who the man is.
Without effort, one scratch single, that's it.
He's just about as good as Verlander is.
Best 1-2 duo in the business.
Still say St. Louis is the team to beat for the whole ball of wax.
