    Is it safe?? I think things can go wrong in places llike this even with celebs there. It's best to play at legal places.

    "Underground" games cater to the degen...not just in New York. Some allow players to play off credit. No legal place is going to allow for that. A bad player can get over his/her head pretty fast.

    I was in a place in Texas that got raided by county sheriffs and SWAT. The organizers did time. Players got carted directly to the courthouse at midnight and had the option to plead guilty to disorderly conduct, pay a $400 fine and be done with it or plead not guilty and face potential other charges. I got off on a technicality and just lost my table stakes and a 6 pack.
