A lesson to my fellow gamblers:Do not mix gambling and xanax
or you might end up like me last night. Popped a few xanax to help me sleep but took a detour to the 5Dimes casino. Stayed up until 8 am this morning and ended up -16k. Still struggling to wrap my head around it today.
Painkillers or anxiety medication + gambling=disaster
If we feel no pain or anxiety while gambling our natural defenses are down and we don't hear the alarm bells I think. Really hope I don't let this happen again.Disgusted with myself. Tony probably got a nice chuckle from it.

So true. Man, I have woken up to log into my account, only to realize about 10 bets being made the night before. Fukkin' terrible.
Had to make a rule never to bet on a game in the middle of the night.

Xanax is a drug that should never be taken ever! Just because a drug is given to you by a doctor does not mean it is any better than illegal drugs. Please try something else to help you sleep like benadryl or even nyquil. Xanax and the rest of the benzo family of drugs are given by unethical doctors meant to passify and brainwash society.

Nothing worse than gambling while drunk. Nothing, absolutely nothing.
I take Xanax daily when needed but I don't sleep on it nor need to. Take melatonin to sleep. I only take .25 though, mellows me out.

The girl who cuts my hair told me some years back she took a handful of xanax while drinking. She said she ended up at an X boyfriends house from way way back. She had walked in his house, into his bedroom while he was sleeping... jerked the covers back and yelled, "Where is she!"

I wouldn't blame on the Xanax. You probably need Xanax to reduce the effect of caffeine and to slow down a brain tormented buy a gambling addiction. Make this experience a positive force to make you a better man. being unable to sleep is a sign to be taken seriously, as there is always a cause. Popping pill will only blind your capacity to see the root of your imbalance. Yoga, a healthy diet, positive thinking, physical exercise, mind and body cleaning through a good diet and a balanced mind plus a regular sleeping schedule will allow you a to have a nice sleep.or you might end up like me last night. Xanax is very addictive. You develop a tolerance if used daily, needing more for the same buzz. Not a good long term solution for anxiety. Withdrawal is a bitch.
The reason I say it's the xanax is because it's happened before with xanax or painkillers. Usually my tolerance for losing is low so I have self control but when under the influence of these I just sit there like a zombie unaffected by what would normally make me quit.
I have had sleep disorder off and on for most of my adult life. I am not an anxious person and never take anything during the day but without something to help me sleep my mind absolutely races with random thoughts. You could be on to something with the caffeine.
Xanax should be banned.

I disagree. I have been on it since April. I take it when needed and don't need to feel a "buzz" frankly I'd rather not. For anxiety which can sometimes make me feel like a crack head needing a fix, it makes me mellow out to the point where I feel normal. The anxiety isn't the fact my body needs xanax because if I were to be at home doing absolutely nothing I wouldn't be anxious and/or need the pill. I take the lowest dose possible though so maybe that is why.
xanax is good with weed. Boring sometimes not like e where you want to party and fkk. pills are overrated overall. they don't do much.

By buzz I meant the calming in produces. I was on this stuff for two years when I was younger, dosage was increased periodically because I built up a tolerance to it. Couldn't stay on it forever, doctor said it time to taper off. I went through hell getting off of it, the symptoms I had for prescribing me xanax were 10x worse on withdrawal than before taking the drug, or at least it seemed that way.
If you've been taking it since April, even at the lowest dosage, you're probably dependent on it but don't know it.

I understand the consequences and long term possibility. Last script was 45 .25 pills on 8/3/12 abd I prob have 25 or so left. I can go days without it and be fine.
I don't remember my dosage, it wasn't high if I recall correctly. I wasn't using it to sleep, only during the day and I was working at the time. But I did take it everyday.
I believe xanax should only be prescribed short term, like for two weeks. There are other benzos less addictive than xanax

Xanax or painkillers I feel like my mind is still working fine in decision making.........It makes me not even want to gamble big at all I guess because I'm so content being high
Alcohol on the other hand has fukked me before with betting and gambling but it's usually when I'm hammered
Xanax is some scary stuff. Actually that whole class of drugs are.
Unfortunately many of us have been in the same position whether because of booze, medication, fight with our partner, bad day at work, etc. It all just looks like numbers on a screen at the time instead of actual cash. Maybe just have Tony turn the casino off for you? If you need to take something to sleep then the possibility of this happening again will always be there sadly.
Rookie mistake not to combine alcohol with the xanax, some herb as well. Xanax is in the must haves as far as the gamblers tool box, too much stress and anxiety if you are betting big.

It might be prudent for you to reinstall SBR poker.
I don't know much about video poker. How much can you play per hand? I'm guessing you played a lot of hands.
