its a terrible list on purpose

all the guys have backers out there, but I yhink the general consensus is that none of them get in.

I'm justing askin... "of the undeserving, who is the closest"

    Original ?. Vlad.

More importantly if JD sticks around for 3k, does he get in? Correct answer... YES.

He is on the list. I made my pick. Do I need your approval if I have to take a shit as well?

Guy has had a great career. At least he doesn't strike out 2 times every game like vlad

    everyone entitled to their opinions

just as we are entitled to have opinions that your opinions stinks. its a message board that is what we do.

I just honestly didn't think many would pick Johnny. Do you have more input to back your opinion other than not striking out alot?

any rebuttal to the fact the guy was only twice concidered to be in the top 25-35 position players in his league?

eliminate Damon and Moyer right off, so it's Ortiz, Vlad or Vizquel. i could see arguments for all three.

if it's my vote, it's Vizquel. name a better fielding shortstop (other than Ozzie). was the gold glove SS every year for like a decade. played on a bunch of good teams (though obviously no World Series title, goddamn it) and has played forever so he has some milestone-type marks.

you could make a good argument for Ortiz. won multiple rings and made the all-star team a bunch of times.

one thing with vlad, the guy could hit till the end. even in the minors this year,I couldn't believe some american league team didn't pick him up

This is all I need for a write up.

An average year for Vlad in his 16 year career is 34-113 .318/.379/.553
He did everything in his career that Harmon Killebrew did but hit 50 points better than Killer.

Vlad, obviously. Ortiz could get there some day with a few more good seasons. Vizquel just isn't there. Moyer's age thing is impressive, but he's not a HOF pitcher. Damon a solid player, but in no way HOF.

Vlad had a straight decade worth of consecutive seasons with OPS of .934 or higher. RBI of 108+ except for one season he would have reached but for missing 50 games by injury. Was there a more consistent hitter between '98-07?

Agree with most....Vlad. Everyone's looking at his offensive stats (rightly so), but the guy has a fukkin cannon for an arm too.

Omar Vizquel. He is the best defensive shortstop I've ever seen (and I'm old). To be the best at something as important as defense as a shortstop is what the hall is all about. Not just another dude who "put up numbers."

He did, but so did Jorge Posada, among other Latin players.

    I'd go with Vizquel 1, Vlad 2.

Vlad had a great arm, but it was scattershot. He was not very good in right field, but yes, he could throw the ball a long way.

The guy's defense went from below average to terrible when he reached his 30s, too.

i love Omar, but he was the second best defensive shortstop i've ever seen (Ozzie Smith).
