That the Players' Union will really go for that proposed "18 game" schedule? I mean, I'm sure we, the fans, would love to see it, but I don't think it will ever really happen.
From what it sounds like, the only way Goodell and the owners will play next season is if they get the 18-game schedule, so I'm inclined to think there's a better than 22.2% chance of that happening.
the key issue is that most football players are not smart with their money, so they wont be a consensus for them to stand together and fight with the owners and goodell, i'll bet that the 18 game will pass, also the media will make a big deal about it, because they still have to pay the nfl tons of money even if they dont play a down next season. So expect some lockout-watch and favrewatch soon.
There won't be a lockout. With the average shelf life of NFL players being so low, most players can't afford a year without pay. The owners (no doubt they would still initially lose money) have more bargaining leverage. They are already rich and would eventually still profit if there is a year without football and the owners get the deal they want.
I really hope there is no lock out. I cant imagine an 18 game season either. The tool a 16 game regular season even takes on it players is unreal, nevermind an 18 regular season.. In my eyes it would be so stupid to go for an 18 game year.
