Should players who flop in the playoffs win MVP's?

    Thoughts please.

The MVP is done and dusted and yes, Manning has won it and shit the bed almost every time so why should it change.

Aaron Rodgers should be the MVP if Packers make the Superbowl.

Didn't he miss like 6 games have more interceptions, less touchdowns and less wins?

Is it a race thing or a Brady hate thing? It has to be one of the two.

Aaron Rodgers should be a lock to win it unless the voters are locked in a time machine.

Yeah Nowitski was a great example. Guy has never won anything in his career.

How about NHL forsby? Was there ever an MVP who choked in playoffs?

This can go both ways, but look at Ovie... though he's played rather well in the playoffs, he's never been able to get his team to the finals. He's a lot like Nowitzki here, dominates the regular season, his team dominates the regular season, but both come up short in the playoffs.

The only other guy I can think of is Lindros. He won the MVP once, was always force in the regular season, but never won the Cup.

Why don't defensive players ever win this award?

Pretty sure they lock in the votes before the playoffs start, they just slow-release all of the awards.

Of course they should. It's a regular season award. One game shouldn't take away from a great season.

MVP is a regular season award.

But it does ring hollow when the winner underperforms in the playoffs

    36 TDs, 4 INTs

That's pretty unreal, especially considering how did it while facing most of the NFL's best defenses.

Combined with the fact that he led his team to the best record in the NFL and he beat all 4 remaining teams left in the playoffs, it was an incredible regular season for him. MVP is a regular season award anyway.

It's not even fukkking close, Brady is the MVP of the season. Jets had his number last night though.

Aaron Rodgers will win the mvp next year. His whole team will be back, including their best reciever and running back. Hoping the future will be +1000 or so.

Aaron Rodgers played in a tough division too. Both teams from that division made the NFC championship game. If Packers beat the Bears the MVP is his to lose. MVP in my opinion is not the one who has the best looking stats. MVP is someone that if he wasn't playing his team would have no chance to win.

lol, ok. The only other team Rodgers played against that was any good in the NFC North was the Bears. Brady, Vick, or Rodgers 1/3 of the award for each.

the dumbasses that left rodgers out of the pro bowl would look even more like dumbasses if he got the mvp

brady gets it even though he has lost 3 straight playoff games

And what toughs teams were in Patriots division besides Jets? Miami or Buffalo?

Brady played and beat The Jets, Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Packers, Bears, Chargers.

Thats 6 playoff teams right there, 4 of them who are still the remaining 4.

There are playoff awards and Brady won't win any of those. MVP is a regular season award whcih Brady clearly deserves.

How are you going to argue that Brady doesn't deserve the MVP? I mean besides Vick (who didn't play a quarter of the season), who is even worth mentioning? As far as "flopping" goes, Brady wasn't the reason the Patriots lost. believe it or not, Belicheck and his conservative offensive schemes yesterday cost the Pats the game IMO.

Disagree. It's a regular season award. Rodgers missed two games from two concussions. And while his numbers are very good, Brady's numbers were off the chart. Brady is the MVP...

I wish it was different where the players would be named basically by their entire body of work during the playoffs too.

Well...if that's the criteria you want to use, the MVP is Peyton Manning. Because the Colts ain't winning sh*t with Chad Painter at QB.

And the Packers almost beat NE with their back-up QB...
