NFL Player News - Week 15

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

    LA - Jeff Fisher fired

    Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen

Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher was fired Monday, Dec. 12, according to sources. Fisher was signed to a contract extension just last week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This news shouldn't come as a shock to anyone subject to watching the Rams. Fisher made no steps towards progress with the Rams this year, and the team is going in a different direction. Landing in Hollywood should be pretty enticing for potential head coaching candidates out there. Cutting Fisher improves the dynasty stock of guys like Jared Goff and Todd Gurley.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte day-to-day

Source: The Associated Press - Dennis Waszak Jr.

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) is considered day-to-day because of the knee injury he suffered in Week 14. Head coach Todd Bowles said he will know more about Forte's injury Tuesday, Dec. 13.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll know more about his status as the week of practice goes on. Get Bilal Powell off the waiver wire if you can. He would start and has RB1 potential if he plays this week.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon week-to-week

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hip) is considered week-to-week with a hip strain, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon's status is going to help decide fantasy playoff games in Week 15. The Chargers are still gathering information on the extent of Gordon's injury, but he does want to play. Stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed if Gordon is on your team. Grab Kenneth Farrow off your waiver wire. If he's gone, then add Ronnie Hillman in super deep leagues.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill to get second opinion

    Source: ESPN - Jeff Darlington

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee) will get a second opinion on his injured knee Tuesday, Dec. 13, to confirm he doesn't need surgery.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It sounds like Tannehill has dodged a much worse injury. The second opinion won't get him back any sooner than the postseason...if the Dolphins can make it in as a Wild Card team.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill avoids ACL tear

    Source: ESPN.com - James Walker

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (knee) has been diagnosed with an ACL and MCL sprain and not a tear to either ligament. The team is unsure if he will be able to return to the field this season, however.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tannehill may be able to return for the postseason if the Dolphins make it that far. Matt Moore will be the starter in the meantime, and he's more than capable with plenty of veteran experience. The Dolphins have the next two games on the road (at the Jets, at the Bills), then finish with a home contest against the Patriots.

PHI - RB Wendell Smallwood suffers MCL sprain - placed on IR

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman

Philadelphia Eagles RB Wendell Smallwood (knee) will 'miss time' after being diagnosed with an MCL sprain following a Week 14 loss to the Washington Redskins. He's been placed on Injured Reserve.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smallwood went on Injured Reserve with this injury. The Eagles also have Darren Sproles banged up (concussion). That leaves Ryan Mathews and Kenjon Barner as the only healthy backs on the roster as they travel to play the Ravens in Week 15.

DAL - QB Dak Prescott's job secure

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will only come out of the lineup in favor of backup Tony Romo if the rookie is unavailable and/or injured, according to team owner Jerry Jones.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It is ridiculous to consider a QB switch in Dallas. Prescott had a couple of picks in the game against the Giants, and he just couldn't get the offense moving through the air. The Cowboys are 11-2 with Prescott at the helm, and there's no need to go to Romo unless there's an injury.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles in concussion protocol

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol Monday, Dec. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

His status for Week 15 is up in the air. Sproles will need to be cleared before resuming practice, and that could take some time. Without him on the field, the Eagles would continue to use more of Ryan Mathews. Wendell Smallwood could miss some time with an MCL sprain, so the Eagles are hurting at the RB position. Kenjon Barner is the only healthy body (along with Mathews) in the backfield.

CLE - Robert Griffin to start again

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III will be the starting quarterback against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15 as long as he is healthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Griffin wasn't able to do much in his return last week. We'll have him as a low-end QB2 for fantasy owners in week two of the fantasy playoffs.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief day-to-day

    Source: IndySportsCentral.com - Mike Chappell

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Make other plans if you have Moncrief on your fantasy team. Hamstring injuries are known to linger if not given enough time to heal.

CIN - WR A.J. Green should practice this week

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Jim Owczarski

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is expected to practice Wednesday, Dec. 14, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Green potentially coming back, it could boost the numbers of QB Andy Dalton. Keep an eye on his practice status during the week.

DEN - RB Devontae Booker must improve

Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker 'has to step up to the plate,' according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Kubiak added that a lot has been put on Booker's plate and that he believes in the rookie running back.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Booker has been just plain bad after taking over as the starter due to C.J. Anderson's knee injury. We saw Justin Forsett take over in the backfield in Week 14, and that's what we think continues.

GB - WR Ty Montgomery a running back according to coach

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein

Green Bay Packers RB/WR Ty Montgomery is a running back and hasn't been in a wide receiver meeting for months, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Packers are using him as a runner and receiver, so his official designation only changes in league software where he's listed as one or the other. He's got RB3/WR4/flex appeal going forward so long as his role stays the same.

CAR - WR Kelvin Benjamin not benched for poor effort

Source: Charlotte Observer - Jourdan Rodrigue
Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin was not benched in a Week 14 win against the San Diego Chargers despite not play in the last series and a half, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Instead, Rivera suggested personnel groupings were to blame for his absence.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners can't trust Benjamin...and they haven't been able to in quite some time. In nine games this season, Benjamin has five or fewer catches and he hasn't had over double-digit targets since Week 10. He's almost in the 'what the heck' flex category moving forward until we see his role grow.

GB - TE Jared Cook should be fine

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook (lung) is expected to be fine for Week 15 after he sustained a lung contusion Sunday, Dec. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watch Cook's practice status during the week. He's only a TE2 for fantasy owners as he's not a consistent player from week to week. In the second week of the fantasy playoffs you'll have better options.

NYG - RB Shane Vereen has concussion

    Source: Newsday - Tom Rock

New York Giants RB Shane Vereen (concussion) played three snaps Sunday, Dec. 11, before leaving with a concussion.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

So much for Vereen's return. He'll go through the concussion protocol now. Even if he's on the field, Vereen isn't much of a fantasy asset as he'd be splitting time as a backup with rookie Paul Perkins.

DAL - RB Darren McFadden returning

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota
Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (elbow) will be moved to the 53-man roster this week, owner Jerry Jones said Monday, Dec. 12.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McFadden will return to the roster, but if he gets on the field it will only be for a part-time role. Ezekiel Elliott is the featured back, so McFadden would be competing for change-of-pace touches.

NYG - RB Paul Perkins splits it up

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants RB Paul Perkins and RB Rashad Jennings each rushed 15 times for 45 yards Sunday, Dec. 11, against the Dallas Cowboys.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Shane Vereen down with a concussion, Perkins was able to do more. The rookie from UCLA has a dash of Jamaal Charles to his game. We'll be watching his development in dynasty leagues, but he's nothing more than a desperation 'what the heck' flex for redraft owners.

GB - GB backfield duo emerges

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery and RB Christine Michael split the carries Sunday, Dec. 11. Montgomery rushed nine times for 41 yards and a touchdown, while Michael rushed 10 times for 36 yards. Montgomery also caught three balls for 45 yards. RB James Starks rushed twice for three yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to react to this new trend for the Packers. Montgomery is getting worked in methodically as a running back, and he's a RB3/flex option with this role. Michael is doing more as Starks continues to disappoint.

    Wednesday Update

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson aiming for Week 16

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - John Shipley

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) hopes to return to practice this week and return for Week 16 Dec. 24 against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to keep an eye on this situation. Peterson is unlikely to play in Week 15, but if all goes well during practice then he could be back for the fantasy championship round in Week 16. Grab him and stash him on your bench if he's out there.

ATL - WR Julio Jones won't practice Wednesday

    Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (toe) will be held out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 14, as he continues to nurse his turf toe, according to head coach Dan Quinn. 'We'll see how he feels later in the week,' Quinn said.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to keep an eye on this situation. Jones missed last week's game, and he's likely to be questionable for the game against the 49ers in Week 15. If Jones plays against the hapless 49ers, he should be in your lineup.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford to play with finger injury

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (finger) is confident he will continue to play through his dislocated right middle ring finger in Week 15 against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford didn't look fantastic wearing the glove after he injured his finger. He's got a week to get used to what the team is hoping is a minor injury. Stafford, who also played through a broken index finger in 2011, believes this injury is not as serious as that one was, and he may not need to wear a glove either.

TB - 'Nothing wrong' with RB Doug Martin

Source: Florida Football Insiders - Roy Cummings

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin has rushed 103 times for just 294 yards (2.9 yards per carry) since his return from a hamstring strain five weeks ago, but head coach Dirk Koetter doesn't appear to be overly concerned about the lack of production so far from his running back.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin had a better-than-some-expected day against the Saints on Sunday. He's a RB2 going forward, and he should pay off so long as he continues to get 20 or more touches and perhaps scores a touchdown. The yards per carry haven't been great for Martin, but the workload is there for him to maintain his current fantasy value.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins wants to play

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) said he plans to play the final three games despite the team almost out of playoff contention.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins has WR1 upside against the hapless Browns in Week 15. He wants to play and head coach Rex Ryan wants to keep his job. It looks like Watkins is going to play.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd arrested for DUI

    Source: USA TODAY Sports

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was arrested early Monday, Dec. 12. Floyd was found asleep at the wheel of his car while it was running, and he was subsequently arrested on two counts of DUI and one count of “obstructing a roadway and failure to obey a police officer.”

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is his second DUI arrest as he had one coming out of Notre Dame. Floyd may face a team suspension this week, and league action is likely coming in the future once the legal process is done. A free agent in 2017, Floyd isn't doing himself any favors on or off the field.

ATL - WR Mohamed Sanu should return to practice

    Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) is expected to return to practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's better than what he got last week (nothing). The 49ers are up next for the Falcons, so the team has no need to rush Sanu back into the lineup.

HOU - WR Braxton Miller heads to IR

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR Braxton Miller (shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 13, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller's rookie season was cut short to just 10 games. He finishes his first year in the league with 28 targets, 15 catches, 99 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. A converted college quarterback, Miller is still learning the nuances of the position. As he goes forward in the NFL, Miller will compete for a spot behind DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.

MIA - QB T.J. Yates headed to Miami

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent QB T.J. Yates (Texans) will sign with the Miami Dolphins, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Ryan Tannehill likely to miss the rest of the regular season, the Dolphins needed an added quarterback. Yates will be the backup to Matt Moore as the Dolphins try to make it into the postseason.

PIT - RB DeAngelo Williams could return in Week 15

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette

Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams (knee) as a 'legitimate' chance to play in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams is a valuable handcuff to Le'Veon Bell, but only fantasy players in deep leagues should be stashing him.

DEN - RB C.J. Anderson sheds knee brace

Source: Broncos Wire - Jon Heath
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) has shed his knee brace in his recovery from knee surgery, according to a video he posted on social media Monday, Dec. 12.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Anderson could return for the end of the regular season...and the Broncos need him badly. He wants to return for the Week 17 game against the Raiders, but the decision is up to the team. Anderson will continue to rehab and try to make it back onto the field for the Broncos.

    Thursday Update

NO - WR Michael Thomas limited

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (foot) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He missed Week 14, but Thomas may be back this week against the Cardinals. Keep an eye on his status later in the week.

NO - RB Mark Ingram does not practice

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee, toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's going to be difficult to trust a banged up Ingram this week. If he plays against the Cardinals, only expect RB2/flex production.

ATL - WR Julio Jones misses practice

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jones may be able to practice on Friday. If he does...even if he's limited...we'll consider starting him as a WR2 or flex option. It could be a robust day for the Falcons offense against the hapless 49ers.

CIN - Limited practice for WR A.J. Green

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green should be limited all this week. There's a chance he plays this week, but we think it's more likely Green is on the field in Week 16. We'll get more data about his status later in the week.

ARI - Arizona cuts WR Michael Floyd

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was released Wednesday, Dec. 14. The team also signed free-agent WR Jeremy Ross (Jets). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Floyd was arrested for a DUI earlier this week, and the Cardinals decided to part ways with him. A free agent in 2017, Floyd hasn't done himself any favors with poor play on the field and another DUI (he had one in college at Notre Dame). The Cardinals move on and J.J. Nelson should see a bump without Floyd on the field.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson back at practice

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Andrew Krammer

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) has been designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 14, and he will practice.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Grab Peterson off the waiver wire if he's there. Not only could you use him at a later point in the fantasy playoffs, you're also preventing him from being used against you. Peterson is targeting a Week 16 return.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham ready to play

    Source: NFL

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (non-injury) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Back at home this week in Seattle, we expect the Seahawks to have a much better day offensively. Graham is a TE1 for fantasy owners once again.

GB - WR Ty Montgomery practices in full

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery (shoulder) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Let's assume the Packers continue to use Montgomery as a RB and WR this week against the Bears. That makes him at least flex worthy in many fantasy leagues. He may only get 10-15 touches, but Montgomery gets a lot of value out of those touches.

NE - Limited practice for TE Martellus Bennett

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bennett is a TE1 against the Broncos on Sunday. Their defense is historically weak against tight ends, and Tom Brady could use Bennett as a relief-valve receiver against what should be constant pressure from the Broncos defense.

TB - Full practice for WR Adam Humphries

    Source: The Dallas Morning News

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Adam Humphries (concussion) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Humphries will be in action in Week 15 on Sunday night against the Cowboys. He's merely a 'what the heck' flex in deep leagues if he plays.

IND - No practice for TE Dwayne Allen

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners are going to have better options than Allen in Week 15. Even if he plays, Allen is a TE2 (at best) against the Vikings.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief doesn't practice

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) missed practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is not a surprise. Hamstring injuries are known to linger if not given enough time to heal. Moncrief's status for Week 15 against the Vikings is up in the air.

DET - TE Eric Ebron also limited

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It would be news if Ebron fully practiced. He's a little banged up, but we've still got him as a high-end TE2 in Week 15 against the Giants.

DET - RB Theo Riddick misses practice

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this situation. The Lions are hurting at the RB position with Riddick and Zach Zenner (concussion) banged up. Dwayne Washington could be the team's lead back against the Giants this week. The rookie is merely a RB4/deep flex play for fantasy owners in Week 15.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford fully practices

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (finger) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford is going to have to throw passes with a glove on this week. He did that last week after the injury and looked a little rough. It will be interesting to see if he can perform more efficiently with a glove on this week. We've got him as a mid-range QB2.

MIN - WR Stefon Diggs limited

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll feel better about Diggs if he gets a full practice in before the week is done. Against the Colts in Week 15, he could post low-end WR1 numbers.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte has torn meniscus

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) said his MRI revealed that he has a torn meniscus in his knee and believes he has been playing with the injury all season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meniscus injuries can knock out RBs for some time if surgery is needed (see C.J. Anderson). Forte said he hopes to be able to play in Week 15 despite the injury. He said he likely will have his knee examined after the season but hopes to avoid surgery.

San Francisco 49ers TE Vance McDonald (shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list because of a broken shoulder blade.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McDonald's season is over, and the injury happens right after he signed his contract extension. We love his value in dynasty leagues, but McDonald's real value will be determined once the 49ers figure out their QB situation.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte to be game-time decision

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) will be a game-time decision for the team's Week 15 game, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
All fantasy owners need to get Bilal Powell. He'll be the lead back if Forte is ruled out. At this time, it's difficult to imagine Forte being active. Even if he does play, the team might limit his touches...leading to a larger day for Powell.

Adrian Petersen would be a huge lift for Vikings. Asiata is as useless as Bradford.

    Friday Update

DET - QB Matthew Stafford full go

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (finger) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford's finger is an unknown quantity and certainly impacted his game last weekend. Meanwhile the Giants pass defense is on fire. That combination of things keeps us on the skittish side of Stafford and we'd use him as a low-end QB2 this week.

DET - No practice for RB Theo Riddick

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants have been pretty good against the run lately, though Ezekiel Elliott topped 100 yards last week. They did keep him out of the end zone though. Riddick won't likely play, so we're expecting Dwayne Washington to step in, but he's no more than a RB3 at best.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers not on the field

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is just having a day off and will play this weekend against Chicago. He's a great start as a QB1, though the cold and wind might put a lower ceiling on his production than he would have had in perfect weather. It's still going to be QB1 production though.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson back on the field

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Matt Vensel

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) is participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He could play this weekend, but we suspect we won't see him until they face Green Bay in Week 16. Peterson looked as awful as anyone else behind this line in Week 1 and part of Week 2, but at this point the Vikings should be willing to see what the future Hall of Famer can do now that he is healthy.

ATL - WR Julio Jones to sit again

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (toe) will not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 15, according to head coach Dan Quinn.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're hoping Jones plays as he does he has a great matchup against the 49ers. But watch this one closely. We all know how this went down last week.

NYJ - RB Matt Forte limited Thursday

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll keep watching this and see what happens. If Forte plays, Bilal Powell could still be a solid flex play as Forte might be limited. If he isn't playing, Powell becomes a nice RB2 play this week. The game is Saturday, so Friday is critical.

CIN - WR A.J. Green suited up again

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Jim Owczarski

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) is practicing again Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Could Green be back this week? We are cautiously optimistic, but he was having issues finding the end zone before his injury so the optimism is tempered. We'll know more Friday.

CAR - QB Cam Newton had MRI on shoulder

Source: Black & Blue Review - Bill Voth

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (shoulder) had an MRI on his throwing shoulder Tuesday, Dec. 13, after complaining of soreness. The tests did not reveal any structural damage, and he is expected to be ready to start the Week 15 game against the Washington Redskins.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're a bit leery of the injury but the fact that there was no structural damage is heartening. The matchup against Washington is pretty good, but this offense is not. We think his feet will help Newton maintain QB1 status, though on the lower end of the spectrum.

OAK - Limited practice for WR Michael Crabtree

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree (finger) was limited at practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Crabtree followed up two good games with a stinker last week, and with his injury, we think Derek Carr isn't going to go to him a ton this weekend. We're looking at him as a WR4, albeit one with upside.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper limited in practice again

    Source: NFLMedia.com

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (shoulder) was a limited participant at practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper and quarterback Derek Carr seem a bit off lately and Cooper's targets have been all over the place as a result. We think he can have success against the Chargers secondary, and feel he is a borderline WR2/WR3 start.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon sits out practice again

    Source: NFLMedia.com

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hip, knee) missed practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like our initial feeling that Gordon would miss this game is spot on. Kenneth Farrow should get most of the carries, but the Oakland defense is solid and Farrow is no more than a RB4 this week.

NE - WR Danny Amendola absent Thursday

Source: Boston Herald - Jeff Howe

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We don't expect Amendola to play against Denver this weekend and given the secondary the Broncos have, it's hard to be excited for the wide receivers who will play.

IND - TE Dwayne Allen limited

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We aren't expecting much from Allen this week, and Jack Doyle is the tight end you want if you are rolling out a Colts tight end. Doyle is a solid TE2 while Allen is a borderline TE3/4.

NYJ - WR Brandon Marshall limited

    Source: NewYorkJets.com

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee, foot, back) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not very excited by Marshall who, in addition to being hurt, has looked disinterested the last few games and now has an inexperienced quarterback under center. Consider him a WR5 at best and stay away unless you really need help.

PHI - Full practice for WR Jordan Matthews

Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news, though between the Baltimore defense and Carson Wentz's struggles, we consider Matthews no more than a WR3.

MIN - RB Matt Asiata takes part in practice

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings RB Matt Asiata (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts are a shaky run defense, but the Vikings offensive line isn't very much help blocking for run plays. Asiata and Jerick McKinnon will split carries and likely both put up about the same numbers, somewhere in the RB3 neighborhood.

MIN - Full practice for WR Stefon Diggs

    Source: Vikings.com

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While we expect a better showing from the Vikings passing offense, Diggs has been supplanted in that offense by Adam Thielen. Diggs gets solid amounts of catches but they don't add up to enough yards to be more than a WR5.

HOU - TE C.J. Fiedorowicz sits again

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It looks like Fiedorowicz is not going to make it this week. If not, Ryan Griffin will take the majority of the snaps and should have some success as a TE2 this week.

JAX - RB Chris Ivory listed as limited

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on this Friday, but if he can't go, TJ Yeldon should serve as a RB3 in his stead.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns not able to practice

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It doesn't look like he will play. Marqise Lee will see more snaps, but is no more than a WR6 against Houston.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins on the field

    Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) is participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cleveland is a great matchup for Watkins, who has high WR2 production written all over him.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief sidelined

    Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Moncrief out, TY Hilton and Jack Doyle become the plays. Hilton is usually a WR1 even against a tough defense like the Vikings, while Doyle looks like a high-end TE2 this week.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles sitting again

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (concussion) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ryan Mathews is the last man standing and faces an awful matchup this week. He should get plenty of carries but room to run will be hard to come by and we see him as a borderline RB3/RB4 start.

SD - RB Ronnie Hillman likely to be active

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Michael Gehlken
San Diego Chargers RB Ronnie Hillman is expected to make his team debut in Week 15 against the Oakland Raiders with RB Melvin Gordon (hip, knee) likely sidelined.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kenneth Farrow should be the lead back with the Chargers while Gordon is out. Hillman will work as a rotational change-of-pace back. We've got Farrow as a RB2 in PPR leagues.

People have to remember that AP looked terrible (through no fault of his own) behind the porous Minnesota offensive line the first two games too, so not sure he will have as much of an impact than some are suggesting.

    Saturday Update

ATL - WR Julio Jones ruled out Week 15

    Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (toe) will not play Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Falcons are going to use Taylor Gabriel and Mohamed Sanu this week against the hapless 49ers. Fantasy owners can consider both WR3 plays, with Gabriel having the most upside of the pair.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers' status in question

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (calf) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers didn't practice this week, but he is still likely to play against the Bears. The matchup screams no-brainer QB1, but this injury and the weather (expected to be windy and in the single digits) give us a bit of pause when considering Rodgers.

NO - WR Michael Thomas set to play

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (foot) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and isn't listed on the Week 15 injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Thomas. After missing last week, the Saints will be glad to have him back.

NO - RB Mark Ingram not on injury report

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe, knee) was a limited participant in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and he isn't listed on the Week 15 injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Ingram here. The risk of re-aggravation is always there but he looks ready to go.

DET - Doubtful tag for RB Theo Riddick

    Source: DetroitLions.com

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as doubtful for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Riddick is highly unlikely to play. That makes Dwayne Washington the lead back for the Lions, but he's just a RB4 against the Giants.

SD - RB Melvin Gordon will not play

    Source: Chargers.com

San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hip, knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and has been ruled out for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fantasy owners have been prepared for this ever since Gordon went down last week. If you made it this far with Gordon, then you'll have to find other options. Kenneth Farrow takes over as the starter, but he could split time with Ronnie Hillman. We've got Farrow as a RB2 option this week.

OAK - Questionable tag for WR Michael Crabtree

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Michael Crabtree (finger) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Crabtree is banged up with a similar injury to his QB Derek Carr. He's still worth considering as a WR2 with WR1 upside.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper listed as questionable

    Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper's injury may not be as big of a deal as QB Derek Carr continuing to play with a finger injury. Against the Chargers, Cooper is worth putting in as a WR2 but he does have WR1 upside.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson says he will play

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Andrew Krammer

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) said he will be able to play in the team's Week 15 game. Peterson said he plans to wear a knee brace when he is playing.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We have no idea what to expect from Peterson this week. Throw him in as a 'what the heck' flex if you'd like, but don't get too excited about his return.

CIN - WR A.J. Green limited Friday

    Source: Bengals.com

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Green is not going to play this week. He has been listed as doubtful for Week 15.

NYJ - WR Brandon Marshall tabbed questionable

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall (knee, foot, back) is being listed as questionable to play in the team's Week 15 game Saturday, Dec. 17, against the Miami Dolphins. He was limited in practice for the third consecutive day Friday, Dec. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Marshall limited, fantasy owners need to look at him as a WR3 in Week 15.

PHI - Duo to fill Darren Sproles' roles in Week 15

Source: NJ Advanced Media - Matt Lombardo

Philadelphia Eagles RBs Kenjon Barner and Byron Marshall will share the passing-down/breather-back roles in Week 15 versus the Baltimore Ravens left behind by Darren Sproles, who has been ruled out.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Neither back should have much fantasy relevance in Week 15. Ryan Mathews will get a bulk of the work, and we look at him as a RB3 against the Ravens.

PHI - RB Darren Sproles out for Week 15

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (concussion) is out for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Without Sproles, we will see Ryan Mathews get a bulk of the work for the Eagles. Kenjon Barner will fill in for Sproles as a returner.

GB - WR Ty Montgomery on track to play

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB/WR Ty Montgomery (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16, but is not on the injury report for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Montgomery should split time once again with Christine Michael in the Packers backfield. He's a RB3 or WR3 or flex option in Week 15. It's going to be super cold in Chicago on Sunday, so the Packers should lean on their rushing attack.

CIN - WR Brandon LaFell ready to play

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon LaFell (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Without A.J. Green on the field against the Steelers, we've got LaFell as a deep 'what the heck' flex.

NE - TE Martellus Bennett questionable

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bennett is healthy enough to trust in Week 15. We've got him as a TE1 against a Broncos defense that is historically weak against the tight end.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins listed as questionable

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins has definite upside against the Browns but keep an eye on him Sunday to check his status.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief will not play Week 15

    Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 15 versus the Minnesota Vikings.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That bumps the fantasy potential for T.Y. Hilton up. Andrew Luck is going to play against the Vikings, and he should be targeting Hilton early and often.

JAX - RB Chris Ivory gets in full practice

    Source: Jaguars.com
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Ivory practiced in full Friday, Dec. 16 and is no longer on the team's Week 15 injury report.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ivory has missed two weeks with this hamstring injury. He'll be back this week, but T.J. Yeldon should remain as the lead back. Even though Ivory is on track to play, we're not trusting him in fantasy lineups.

GB - RB James Starks still in protocol

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol Friday, Dec. 16, but he's making progress, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Packers will use Ty Montgomery and Christine Michael as their top runners.

PHI - WR Jordan Matthews expected to go

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (ankle) is expected to play in Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Against a tough Ravens defense, we've got Matthews as a WR3 or flex option for fantasy owners. You likely have a better choice at the position in Week 15.

    Sunday Update

CIN - WR A.J. Green won't play Sunday

    Source: ESPN - Bob Holtzman

Updating previous reports, Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) will not play in Week 15's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. It's good that Green is back in action during the week of practice, but a Week 16 return was always the most likely. We'll watch his practice status next week. Without Green on Sunday against the Steelers we'll see more time/targets for guys like Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd.

NE - WR Michael Floyd's status uncertain

    Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd will travel with the team for their Week 15 game, but head coach Bill Belichick would not say if Floyd will be active for the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots could have a small group of plays in place for Floyd if he does play against the Broncos. Either way, the Broncos have had to prepare for the newest Patriots WR as he did travel to the Mile High City. If Floyd is active, he is unlikely to have a role that makes him fantasy relevant.

JAX - WR Allen Hurns may return in 2016

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike DiRocco

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns (hamstring) has not been placed on the Reserve/Injured list because the team thinks he has a chance to play in the final two games, according to head coach Gus Bradley.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurns may return later this year, but fantasy owners don't need to hold their collective breath. The Jaguars will move on with Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee and Bryan Walters as their top three WRs as Hurns continues to miss time.

NYG - RB Shane Vereen cleared

    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants RB Shane Vereen (concussion) was been cleared from the concussion protocol and is expected to play in the team's Week 15 game, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Vereen could play, but his fantasy relevance is incredibly low. He'll split time in a three-headed backfield featuring Rashad Jennings and rookie Paul Perkins.

BAL - Game plan hurting RB Terrance West

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec

Baltimore Ravens RB Terrance West has 33 carries combined over the last four games, and the team is on pace for the fewest rushing attempts in franchise history and is leading the league in pass attempts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

What is also hurting West is the presence of rookie RB Kenneth Dixon. Each week it seems like the two are splitting snaps fairly evenly. However, last week Dixon logged 42 snaps while West was on the field for only 14 snaps. West is not trending in the right direction, and fantasy owners likely have better options to turn to in Week 15.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota cutting down on turnovers

Source: The Tennessean - Jason Wolf

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota has eight touchdowns since his last turnover, and quarterbacks coach Jason Michael said Mariota is doing drills designed to help him protect the football two or three times per week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Mariota is not careless with the football, and he still has yet to throw an interception in the red zone during his pro career. He had a bad day in a win over the Broncos last week, but Mariota should put up more passing yards on the road against Kansas City this week. Weather reports indicate kickoff temperatures in the single digits, so don't expect the Titans to fill the air with footballs.

    Monday Update

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson not effective in return

    Source: The Associated Press

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) returned to action in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts after missing 11 games due to a torn meniscus in his right knee. He ran six times for 22 yards, but also had a lost fumble in the second quarter.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson had one good run, but it ended with the fumble. He'll be a boom/bust play at Green Bay next week with the Vikings playoff hopes on life support.

IND - Subpar performance for WR T.Y. Hilton

    Source: The Associated Press

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton posted three receptions for 45 yards in the Week 15 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He was targeted a team-high seven times.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hilton had a quiet afternoon because the Colts had taken care of business by halftime in this big road win. He's still a strong play at Oakland next week.

IND - RB Frank Gore still getting it done

    Source: The Associated Press

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 26 times for 101 yards in the Week 15 game against the Minnesota Vikings. He added four receptions for 14 yards on four targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore's second 100-yard game of the season could have been a massive fantasy performance if Robert Turbin hadn't vultured one score and gobbled up another in a two-minute drill. Gore's high floor/low ceiling profile is intact heading into Week 16.

GB - WR Davante Adams mostly invisible

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams posted two receptions for 25 yards on six targets in the Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams dropped two touchdowns or he and Aaron Rodgers would have had a much larger afternoon in fantasy leagues. He'll remain a boom/bust play against the Vikings next week.

GB - TE Jared Cook finishes with six grabs

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers TE Jared Cook managed six receptions for 85 yards on eight targets in the Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook has had two big games and three duds since returning from injury. He'll be a classic boom/bust play against the Vikings next week.

GB - WR Ty Montgomery lights up Chicago

    Source: The Associated Press

Green Bay Packers RB-WR Ty Montgomery (shoulder) rushed 16 times for a career-high 162 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears and he added two receptions for just one yard on three targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Montgomery found huge lanes and broke off multiple long runs against the Bears. He should be entrenched as the #1 back next week against the Vikings and deserves a start no matter his classification in your league.

CHI - WR Alshon Jeffery back from suspension

    Source: The Associated Press

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery posted six receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown in the Week 15 game against the Green Bay Packers in his first game back from a four-game suspension.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery had a very quiet first half, but came alive in the second half as the Bears closed a 17-point deficit. He's back to being a must start against Washington in the fantasy finals.

CHI - Cam Meredith pulls down nine receptions

    Source: The Associated Press

Chicago Bears WR Cameron Meredith posted nine receptions for 104 yards on a team-high 13 targets in the Week 15 game against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Meredith hit the doldrums for a bit after a breakout with Brian Hoyer, but he has restored his possible starter of the future status with Alshon Jeffery likely hitting free agency next year. He's worth consideration in deep leagues next week against Washington.

CHI - QB Matt Barkley over 300 yards again

    Source: The Associated Press

Chicago Bears QB Matt Barkley completed 30 of his 43 pass attempts for 362 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in the Week 15 game against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Barkley has shown tremendous ability to operate in the cold and snow of Chicago for a Southern California college quarterback. He has 2QB/Superflex value against Washington next week and has made himself a lot of money as a long-term backup, if not a potential bridge quarterback in the future.

HOU - Eight grabs for TE Ryan Griffin

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans TE Ryan Griffin posted eight receptions for 85 yards on his eight targets in the Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) sidelined.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Griffin also drew a pass interference to set up the game-winning score. If Fiedorowicz isn't ready for the matchup with the Bengals next week, Griffin will merit lineup consideration.

HOU - QB Tom Savage leads Houston to win

    Source: The Associated Press

Houston Texans QB Tom Savage came off the bench in the Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in place of the ineffective QB Brock Osweiler. He completed 23 of his 36 pass attempts for 260 yards, leading the team to a comeback victory.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Savage is earning himself a chance to take over for good in the offseason, and maybe even a chance to pilot the Texans to the playoffs. It won't be surprising if he is named the starter next week against the Bengals.

CIN - WR Brandon LaFell misses 100 yards

    Source: The Associated Press

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon LaFell caught seven passes for 91 yards but did not score in a 24-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

LaFell took his turn as the #1 in this game with AJ Green out for likely one last week. He'll go back to the fantasy waiver wire as long as Green returns next week.

BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon reaches end zone

    Source: NFL.com

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown on nine rushes against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dixon's touchdown was a consolation on a week that seemed to be building to one of his best games of the season, but instead saw him take a backseat to Terrance West. He's not a safe play against Pittsburgh next week.

JAX - Gus Bradley relieved of coaching duties

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The Jacksonville Jaguars fired head coach Gus Bradley Sunday, Dec. 18, following their ninth consecutive loss in Week 15 against the Houston Texans, according to a source. An interim head coach will be named Monday, Dec. 19.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was the most predictable firing of the season. Bradley was never able to get the Jaguars out of the league cellar and this year he had little excuses with a revamped defense and functional offense. Blake Bortles will have one more year to reclaim his mojo with a next head coach next year.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz has solid performance

    Source: NFL.com

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz caught six passes for 80 yards against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz was the only downfield target clicking with Carson Wentz in Week 15. He had a beautiful toe tap catch and appears to be a very strong option heading into a matchup with the Giants next week.

PHI - RB Ryan Mathews surpasses 100-yard mark

    Source: NFL.com

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mathews was a surprise Week 15 stud against a top-notch Ravens run defense. Darren Sproles could return from a concussion next week, but Mathews has earned lineup consideration heading into a tough matchup against the Giants.

BUF - WR Sammy Watkins has disappointing performance

    Source: NFL.com

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins caught one pass for 10 yards against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins had been inching up in fantasy value heading into Week 15, but he was a zonk this week. The cold and windy weather along with a blowout win made him a small role player today. He'll be a very risky play in Week 16.

DET - WR Golden Tate has 100-yard game

    Source: NFL.com

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate caught eight of his 13 targeted passes for 122 yards in a 17-6 loss to the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tate was getting free downfield and he was just about the only consistent part of the Lions offense in a tough afternoon at East Rutherford. He has earned every week starter status going into the matchup with Dallas.

NYG - RB Paul Perkins runs for 56 yards

    Source: The Associated Press

New York Giants RB Paul Perkins had 11 carries and 56 yards Sunday, Dec. 18, in a 17-6 win over the Detroit Lions.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perkins was much better on a per touch basis than Rashad Jennings in this one. He could be a deep sleeper play against the Eagles next week.

CLE - Robert Griffin finds end zone

    Source: NFL.com
Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III went 17-for-28 for 196 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15. He also rushed for 48 yards and one touchdown on eight carries during the game.
    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Griffin was a tough runner and took a few hits that made you wonder if he was going to get up and that made him a strong Week 15 fantasy play despite the meager passing numbers. He'll a streaming option against the Chargers next week.

Now Jacksonville needs to get rid of Bortles and GM Caidwell.
