    This is tragic, particularly for someone who's not even 40 years old. The physical beating the game hands out, this is why I hate asking players to play twice in the span of five days (Thursday games) and why the idea of an 18-game regular season is patently absurd.

    he wanted to be a pro football player growing up. he achieved his goal, got paid, will be getting his pension. little sympathy. he can still see, hear, talk, eat and bet from a comfortable chair in his living room.

    Wasn't this the guy who use to take massive shots to the head? Seemed like every time I watch this guy play... he took at least one good shot to the head every time I turned the TV on in a game. Damn.
